After seeing what was said about the Persona 5 video and how it was just an oddly incompetent approach of how the game was to be considered "Completed", I now am in belief that Jirard was either not completing games, or, was using others to help progression due to a number of factors thanks to both the video from Joon the King and his own channel.
Of the 19 videos he's put out after "My Response", five of them were low effort list videos such as "Top Five games I wont Complete but Love", etc. As for the Completionist Game Review Episodes, there's a few that stick out like a sore thumb to me.
Kirby Triple Deluxe is a 3DS title that is 10 years old. Assassin's Creed Black Flag was only a few months before Kirby. I can surmise that maybe AC4 was due to the recently released in Ubisoft's own words, AAAA game and bombshell hybrid, which lead to some people reminescing of what they considered "The last good Assassin's Creed", and the real pirate game to go to if they wanted a ubi pirate game. But Kirby feels so out of place, almost like filler, and it's most certainly not from the New Game Plus series (the last game on the list was Illusion of Gaia, and the next should be Final Fantasy VII.)
Resident Evil VII was released in 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and was definitely something that could've been done by then, especially since he's done the remakes, and even 8 only two years ago according to the upload date. Resident Evil 4's Remake was much closer to its release date, a whopping ten months ago.
L:ego Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga, released in 2022. I think you get the point now.
These games have been out for a while. For someone who's bitched about the algorithm and not being able to get a grip on it, trying to get as many of the most recent games to regain relevancy, etc., he sure has chosen some of the worst games possible to play. Not only are these games (for the most part) irrelevant and haven't made a buzz in a hot minute, but they're also ones that, respectively, is mogged by its sequel (Planet Robobot), is Assassin's Creed, has been talked to death about, and is a fucking Lego Movie Tie in game, one of the lowest effort and monotonous things I personally have ever played. Also from the looks of it, the pacing of episodes has slowed. After "My Response", there were quite a few episodes published, with some months having three at a minimum.
"My Response" was released in early December, with the Mario RPG, Sonic Super Stars, AC4, and Kirby 3D, one month's time (January 6th - January 27th.) Four of these five videos are Completionist episodes. For this study, the start and cut off date will be from the first to the last day of the month (since this year was a leap year, I'm not giving any leeway for the lost day.) Having about 5 videos per month sounds rather healthy but as you can see, it's not making the numbers he should be making. I would like to note that it is possible that Jirard was most likely not given an early copy for Sonic Superstars nor Mario RPG,since he does not disclose that he received a copy and has admitted to not getting copies from Sega or Nintendo since the G4 disaster.
February has only 3 Completionist episodes, from Prince of Persia, to Mario vs Donkey Kong. Only three of these are Completionist episodes. Prince of Persia is the only game that with confirmation was given an early copy seen with the following video where he says he's been given "Unlimited Access" in June of 2023. Both Prince of Persia and Mario Vs Donkey Kong were released in January.
The next month is another three episodes and countdown, Lies of P, Penny's Big Breakaway, Games I Love but Wont Complete, and Princess Peach Showtime, with the latter two Completionist Episodes being games that released very recently at the time of their videos releasing, and Lies of P being in September of 2023. What's interesting to note is Princess Peach Showtime's review was released exactly a week after release. I didn't play it, so I don't know if it's that much of a breeze to "complete", or something more sinister: potential piracy?
April only has two Completionist Episodes, for Zelda Spirit Tracks and South Park Snowday. They're all a week apart too. This has to be where production slowed down and if I'm correct, was right around after he started to stop crediting people (whether this is to prevent harassment or because he fired everyone/started working on his lonesome is up for debate.) What is important is that the slowing down of content is correlative to how much he can complete, let alone, how much is completeable thanks to the lack of a team.
And then after the Zelda video comes only two videos in May, only one being a completionist episode, and then only ONE episode in the entire month of June. Is it possible that him completing Legend of Dragoon, a nearly 60 hour game to complete on average according to Howlongtobeat? Probably, but there's been something that's always made me genuinely wonder about his ability to play games let alone complete them, so here's my compiled evidence.
Concluding this, I'd like to bring up one of his episodes, the Breath of the Wild episode, which released the same week (probably day if memory serves me?) the game released. In the Zelda Breath of the Wild review, there's a skit that has Jirard giving orders to some people to find the Korok seeds, the games most ubiquitous collectable that was intentionally designed to not be 100%'d because they were just things that were "in the way" and scattered about the entirety of Hyrule in just about any area. Your prize is worthless if you get all 900 of the seeds and you only need <500 of them to max out your item slots (and even then, you can get away with not having to get that many if you play your cards right.) Many reviews have been shown to use footage of his let's plays on Super Beard Bros. and Scary Games Squad, a former partner of his, despite the fact it was a cooperative effort and not just him. While it's fine that he'd use such footage as long as he provides his own solo playthrough content, it still paints a light of him not being too honest or forthcoming with "his" journey as a Completionist. This is not to say that using archived footage is bad, as even some people have made really good videos for games that use other people's footage, and sometimes technical difficulties, or things that happen, just don't get recorded. After all, grinding sessions aren't fun to watch when there's nothing entertaining or interesting going on. It is instead the fact that if you track down the recording to the games, you'll most likely figure out that it's a game that Jirard did pass the controller onto at times. The final part of this is what I've presented prior to my conclusion. Before the scandal, Jirard had a video almost every week, usually with a gap for a countdown video, an update video, or him just talking about games. Even still, he was able to have games completed supposedly before they're out, or even very close to release. Now, the output is not only slowed down to a near halt with the entire month of June only having one video compare to the average of 4, but it's been almost a month since he released a new video (Dragoon was released on the 13th, the top ten PSP video was released on May 19th and Skywalker Saga was released June 15th, so even then, we've had a month long gap between completionist episodes but not for a whole video just yet.) Ever since he's confirmed to have fired/let go of people from That One Video Gamer, having to move back into his home as an office, and now effectively and supposedly working solo, it feels more obvious than ever that Jirard's lies go straight to the very top; His own persona of a completionist isn't even all him.
tl;dr, video output and prior reviews and video footage have severe implications that it isn't just Jirard, or sometimes not even him at all, that completes the games he supposedly completes.
