I remember the regular jeans of that era were baggy anyway, and the nasty feeling of the soggy/muddy cuffs when it rained and stepping on the backs of them and creating a big tear in the cuff.

This is the post of someone who was teased for still wearing jeans when the cuffs were torn up.
No one was teased for that where I lived, maybe we were all too poor to give a shit. I remember when a girl started wearing skinny jeans a few years later we all teased her for that shit, her family was from England and she said that it was the fashion there. Honestly it was more her personality that got her teased than anything but still I don't think we could have foreseen that skinny jeans would become popular a few years later.

Its marketed as an urban style so your affluent white/black can feel ghetto too.

Nah hood rats would wear that shit. Emo kids would wear these.
Tripp they are a popular brand amongst emos, goths, scenes and whatever disaffected woes is me people.

This actually made me bust a gut, holy shit.

LOL, those things have been back for a very long time. My husband was a dumb ass and collected these things in his 20s. I sold them on eBay for good money to other dumb asses.
Yeah I found a Fat Albert FUBU denim jacket that'd only fit someone 300+ pounds outside my work a couple years back, sold it for $100, people convinced me people are still into this shit.

Friendly reminder that JNCOs and UFOs are based on US military Korean War era parachute pants. The straps on the side are meant to hold down ammo on the drop into the 51st parallel from a plane.
Funny you say that. I was wondering why it isn't more popular with weebs considering how they look like Japan pants (ie. hakama), especially since the 90s.

Especially with the pants bloused and the strings hanging out, it resembles a karate gi with regards to silhouette.
In any case, the originals had no pockets, just pass through slots. The first pairs of UFOs sold in stores were just these overshells with a tag on em that said UFO, with an american flag on it because it WAS surplus at the end of the day.

I literally can't think of anybody who unironically liked these. They were like the sped brother of bellbottoms.
They were really popular with some of my classmates when I was in middle school. The guys who wore them were a skater sub-group and disregarded all the guys who didn't wear them as uncool. They were so specific to the turn of the millennium that I don't recall anybody wearing them in high school except for maybe the first part of my freshman year.

For the curious, all the girls I knew including myself thought that they looked incredibly stupid and any guy wearing them was a stuck-up dickwad to avoid when possible.

Imagine wearing jeans, lol. Shorts master race.

Baggie loose fitting jorts 4 lyfe

I had a professor who wore JNCOs

I wouldn't have noticed since obese bugmen are not terribly interesting to look at, but he felt the need to address the class about it as we walked in on the first day

I member seeing kids and some young adults wearing those. Could never figure out what the point was, but always wanted to see someone wearing them trip and fall. Oh nostalgia
