I'm pretty sure he said 96 at one point. Imagine making it that far into life with your mother still alive and not reconciling. I am actually genuinely sad for her. Despite everything, Tom is still her child, and no matter what, for most parents, that bond doesn't go away. It's sad that that weight was on her soul as she passed, all because of the way Tom is. I'm not much interested in most belief systems other than from a sort of academic perspective, but my one real closely held idea is you owe grace to the people that you love, especially your parents. There's very little that would be so bad that you shouldn't try to forgive them and be at peace with them.

E: Of course, it should be reciprocal. Parents owe their kids almost unconditional love too. But from the posts we've seen, it's pretty clear she was reaching out, and that Tom was rebuffing her advances because she didn't give him money.
 
Tom isn't going to do shit, just like every other time he's threatened legal action as soon as he hits one minor hurtle he finds something else to rage about.

Tom's shit on, argued, ignored and insulted his family for nigh on forty some years. He blames them for everything wrong in his life, which for people like him is par for the course, and only when death was encroaching upon loved ones did he give a quarter of a shit to reconciling.

He's probably gonna get something from this; just not what he wants. I've seen similar situations with estranged families and here's how I think it'll go down. His siblings and any of his mothers immediate family, those still alive, are obviously the most important. Any money divided will be done so with them receiving the largest percentiles.

Piggy Wasshog is gonna get the shake that's left over. We're not looking at an even split; let's say the grand total is something like 100k being split three ways. Tom is only gonna get twenty percent and the other two are getting forty. This way he still get something and will hopefully fuck off for the rest of their lives.

I'd find no greater joy for the end of the year than Tom getting his 'fuck off' stipend and then using it to fund a lawyer to squeeze more money out of them...just to waste it all and end up with nothing like he deserves.
