I second that, my senior cat cost me over the years about 10.000 in terms of vet visits. and dental work, and special diet food, and needing a babysitter to make sure she get her meds on time while I was at work, not to mention all the items I needed to buy so she can keep active and comfortable, man I ran through so many cat beds because she became disinterested in one and then like the new one was good for a year, and the toys, literally I kept my Manx healthy and active for upwards of 23 years. But in order to keep a senior cat healthy and active and happy it costs a lot of money. and that was in the span of 7 years.
when you have a senior cat they're still a baby and become even more babyish in old age, so it's round the clock, luckily my Manx only had issues with overeating and being lazy when bored though I did need dental work, and she was prone to infections. she did have a bit of an issue with her teeth despite me trying to brush her teeth, luckily I was able to get her meds in by sort of mashing it up in a chicken puree. I know your not really suppose to crush up pills but if I tried to force it in her mouth she'll puke then later in the day go ahead and piss on one of my items in the form of protest. yes displease her and she'll piss on your stuff. Basically what I am saying if your lucky you may get a cat who just happens to get fat and be healthy, or end up having renal issues. I literally had to refit my bed room which is favorite room with all sorts of hidey holes, and toys and a nice little nook for her to sleep when I not there just so I can keep her active. That's not even taken in consideration for a while when I first got her I had to give her Xanax prescribed from the vet because her previous owner abused her, to the point she would have severe anxiety if a man came into a room and attack, and the re-socialization, and recovery, over all besides senior care I probably dropped at least an additional 5,000 to help her recover from her past trauma, and get her to trust humans again. I literally had to have a kitty phycologist help me.
it takes time, work MONEY, and a lot of love to care for these sweet babies.
YOU CAN'T EVEN PROTECT YOUR OWN KIDS FROM YOUR PEDO HUSBAND BIATCH.
no jodee don't get a senior cat, chances are you'll make it's live miserable, and it's expensive as fuck to deal with with a senior properly.
I wouldn't even trust you with a gold fish.
