Joe Puccio, Co-founder of Coursicle.com, has turned his webpage into a bizarre rant about his NYC landlord upping the rent + other weird things.

Joe Puccio is a co-founder of a company called coursicle.com that helps students at various universities book school courses for their classes. He has recently gone on a rant about Mark Zuckerberg, his landlord, big-tech companies, etc., and got his Twitter account locked down.

A couple of days ago he changed Courscile's homepage to this.
His Twitter page is also interesting.

I'm not very fluent in backing things up, but here are some webpage photos

This is his webpage video.

The page now says
I want to express a couple of things. The first is that I want you to know that what you saw on Twitter, Instagram, and Coursicle was not me having a mental breakdown. It was me being myself, without any filter.

The second I want people to realize is that the reason my voice was heard was because of Coursicle. I want you to think about all of the people who struggle who don't have the platform I have. Many of them die by their own hand.

Coursicle will be back up soon. We've got the world's attention, and that's all we need to change it.
Explicitly claiming to not have had a mental breakdown is so reassuring, isn't it? Though I would probably say the same thing in any other context.

Saying people like him who don't have his platform kill themselves isn't exactly the best way to calm people down either.

Reminds me of that guy who would constantly sperg about GREEDY JEWISH LANDLORDS.

You people don't know how bad it is in NYC. It's complicated by but basically the rents have been inflated by the banks as they had to keep parity with property values that were themselves inflated by frivolous loans. Now when business collapsed during Covid everyone expected rents to go down but it's not possible. Instead a large part of NYC sits empty or rotates every 6 months between failed businesses.

Why?

Because the people who own the properties obviously have loaned to get them.
And it's not that they can't pay the interest on those loans - they can, in fact they would rather let the properties sit empty than rent them out for a lesser rent.

Why?

Oh yeah, here's the funny part. Because if they lower the rents the value of the property is somehow lowered as well as it's tied to the rent (not sure how this absurd system works). As the value of the property falls the issue is that portions of the loan fall below the level which has an underlying asset. Basically they become consumer loans, or close to it. Interest gets bumped up to gigantic proportions and the bank can in some cases demand cash payments from the owners that go far above the monthly interest payments even with the increased interest. The owners can't pay to balance their loans and then the bank takes over the property.

So yeah, it's worth going insane over if you're a new yorker, lol.

Earlier today, Coursicle.com redirected users to joepucc.io's site, but as I am writing this, the site has returned to normal.

Joe has updated his main site with 6 new posts today. One post was suspiciously devoid of content, but upon using the element inspection you can see that Joe only hid the contents of the post but did not truly delete anything.

The post looks like this:

<p>In order to save this country, I must sacrifice that which is most dear to me. In the past, that would have been my life. Then, it would have been my liberty. Now, it is my pursuit of happiness. I must sacrifice my relationship with one person who understands me better than anyone else: Annabelle. She has shared a lot of information with me since we met on September 7th, and when she asks me not to share something, I don't. Today, I'm violating that trust. Even though she has begged me not to post this, even though she said we could never be together again if I did this, I'm still doing it. I'm sacrificing someone I love for this cause. Someone who I care for more than I do myself.</p>

<p>My girlfriend, the absurdly talented <a href="https://www.instagram.com/bel_draws/" target="_blank">Annabelle Davis</a>, goes to SVA. She has been consistently abused by SVA. They have forced her to retake a class, costing her an extra $4,000, which her aunt and uncle refuse to pay (because they're also anxious about money). They did so because her professor was intimidated by her talent, and failed her due to three absenses in a semester, even though 1 of them was because she was in the hospital. In exchange for her help in bringing Tara to justice, I Venmo'd her $1,000 from Coursicle's bank account. A couple weeks later, her laptop was stolen out of her car, making her have to spend all the money I had given her to get a new one. I have offered many times to use my voice to assist her, but she was too afraid of retaliation by SVA. She is SVA's slave, and we must free her. This is Stockholm syndrome.</p>

<p>Here's what's going to happen:</p>
<ul>
<li>I am going to publicly target SVA, informing them of this post.</li>
<li>They are going to retaliate by abusing their power over Annabelle, in a fruitless attempt to get me to stop. Most likely, they're going to expel her.</li>
<li>Her uncle, <a href="https://www.americanpressinstitute....king-s-town-5-good-questions-benjamin-phelan/" target="_blank">Ben Phelan</a>, will be incredibly upset by this. He loves her as a daughter. Every Friday, they send her a photo of her empty seat at the dinner table at their home in Kentucky with sad faces on. Ben works as a fact checker at the New York Times. One major project he worked on was fact checking the book Educated by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tara_Westover" target="_blank">Tara Westover</a> (yes, I know #triggered). I've been told this Tara is nice.</li>
<li>Ben will retaliate by using his platform, which has 800 million listeners (<a href="https://serialpodcast.org/" target="_blank">the Serial Podcast</a>), to fight back against this tyranny.</li>
<li>I hope this is the final stage. I hope this will wake the world up. We're about to hack the biggest podcast on the planet, and use it to distribute the truth.</li>
</ul>

<p>The one stressor that Annabelle's family has experienced is money. They, like many, are a slave to money (well, their lack thereof). Her aunt has student loans that have caused their family much strife (she was raised by her aunt and uncle). Please Venmo her at <a target="_blank" href="https://venmo.com/u/belle2467">belle2467</a>. Please share her Venmo widely. In your Venmo message, please reassure her that we all care about and love her and we're going to take care of her and her family. She has told me over the phone that she doesn't think this is going to work, that nobody is going to give her any money. We need to prove her wrong. My hope is that this will give them so much money that they won't even know what to do with it. Ben has had an enormous role in protecting democracy up until this point. It's time, we, the people, pay him back.</p>

<p>I hope the end is near, folks. And I hope to God this revolution will be much shorter than the ones that have come before it. Killing is easy, changing minds is harder.</p>

<p>Cancel classes. Discuss what's happening with your professors. And let us all watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/70039175">V for Vandetta</a> today, and realize that we are finally making that dream a reality. But instead of toppling the tyranny of government, we're toppling the tyranny of capitalism.</p>

<p>God bless America, and all of <a href="https://joepucc.io/notes/cancel-culture.php">the people</a> it took to build it. Because that's what built this country. People. And it's time for us to take it back.</p>

<p>Oh, one more thing: we're all still waiting on those nudes, Zendaya.</p>
