I suspect that's because "Influencer" was not really a possible career avenue for Gen X and Millenials, while for Gen Z, it's very much a real and desirable career.
Gen X and Millenials were just goofing around; maybe they wanted to be "internet famous", but back in the day, "internet famous" was bragging rights only and rarely included any money.
For Gen Z it's different; they see Mr. Beast, Ray Williams Johnson, and Moist Kritical/Charlie/whatever his name is making boatloads of money, and they want in, so they try harder.
As for Joe, he actually wasn't a very nice person. I'm not to say good things about him now simply because he's dead. Maybe if he'd ever considered returning the favor once in a while instead of demanding infinite blowjobs and doxing old gay men online, he would have gotten a boyfriend easily. That's not what he wanted though, he wanted constant groveling worship and flayed anyone who wanted any type of satisfaction from him in return.
I still found his death very disturbing and horrible, so I will remind everyone that there is no simple, painless suicide method that leaves a pristine-looking body. The whole idea is a romanticized, fairytale, they'll-miss-me-when-I'm-gone revenge fantasy turned inward on itself. Your death will be horrible enough without your personal intervention. Better to drink or drug or eat yourself to death the old fashioned way imho.
