I am starting this thread on the day that folk legend, Johnny Cash, has died. Cash is still one of my favorite artists to this day and his music was helped me with boredom anywhere I went.
Post stuff about Johnny Cash or some of his music
I'm sorry if the format isn't to Kiwi standards, first time posting a thread.

If you look up Big River on Youtube the top live performance is very clearly from his amphetamine days.

There will never be another like him.

You probably know this but FYI since so many people don't, this is a cover of a NIN song. Not any less worthy or great of a Cash performance, of course, and it's no surprise he'd cover it--the lyrics are very "Johnny Cash".

Johnny Cash is the reason I groan when someone says they don't like country. Country can be great, but not modern pop country. Cash was fantastic.

Johnny Cash was a musical genre unto himself.

Hey Porter!
There are too many versions of "A Boy Named Sue" with the bleep in it. Although Johnny bleeped himself sometimes too, so I've heard. This one is not censored.

I'll contribute more than just starting the thread

Johnny Cash's cover of I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty.
