That's literally how they think. Not joking; they think that using the right series of mumbo-jumbo words will get them out of the legal system. Oh, but they can still get all of the benefits of course. They're basically SovCits lite if not SovCits Original.

I'd giggle if he tried OPCAL bullshit at his trial, but considering his cowardice in the face of unarmed people (even with his AR-15), I predict plea bargain due to that.

They are the legal version of a cargo cult. They don't understand anything about the law, but you're entirely right that they view it as a series of magical incantations that will somehow get them out of prison and give them a pony and whatever else they want.

The FBI released a video of the shooting that totally debunks the militia myth that LaVon FINKum was on his knees with his hands in the air when he was shot (in fact, he was seen reaching for a gun in his coat when he got dropped). Even with this, all the militia sympathizers can say is that he was still executed. These people are way far too gone to reason with. They are literally hallucinating.

I love how these loonies scream about how he was brutally executed without thinking of what the militia guy was planning to do. His plan was to shoot the feds thus brutally executing them.

You can almost hear what the militia guys were saying as they were driving up to the road block in @VLAD 's video. They were probably psyching themselves by saying things like "This is it, boys! It's our time to show the dang dirty gubberment they can't mess with us! This day everything will change! When the truck stops it's our duty to fight!". Everyone was probably agreeing and getting pumped. Then the truck stopped and only the driver got out. The other guys decided they didn't want to die. They are only interested in shooting when they know they'll win and thus stayed in the truck letting their "friend" eat shit.

What a terrific bunch of guys. Certainly people I'd share a foxhole with. - said no one ever.

The real funny thing about all this is that how this story is not getting a huge amount of press. Namely that LaVon Wassisname suicided by cop. You'd think due to the narrative that they've built up over the past few decades about the evil librul media that the press would be all over this and it would be plastered all over the front page of every newspaper across the country. But strangely it isn't. It's there if you happen to look for it but it's nowhere near the level that it should be given how it is they go on about it.
 
I hope that after they're inevitably arrested they tack on a fine for cleaning that place up. It's totally the Gamershack redneck edition.

In a video posted a day later, Ritzheimer talked about Robert “LaVoy” Finicum and other occupiers taking up a “defensive posture” at the refuge against a feared FBI raid.

“Right now underneath the tarp right there — LaVoy Finicum is sitting underneath the tarp, and he’s not going to let them come through,” Ritzheimer said in the video.

That raid never came.

I'm kind of surprised that it looks like no supporters other than his wife and her friends showed up. I honestly thought someone would stand outside with an AK, because that's usually what happens in Phoenix.
