He's probably not insane. Just bored, since he doesn't have an actual job. The last time this happened got a few unironic chuckles out of me, so I'll keep up to date with his upload schedule to see if the same happens here. Also sorry for double response, the internet on the .st domain wants to be insufferable sometimes.

Judging by how Dog of Wisdom II's moderate success temporarily revived his interest in animation, before the failure of the projects he (ostensibly) actually cared about brought him back into schizophrenic posting, I'd wager he's sick of the things he puts effort into failing while audiences lap up the lower effort content that he doesn't care for.

I suppose I can sympathize in that regard, as it must be a frustrating experience, but it doesn't make the content he values any better and it doesn't make his downward spiral any less funny.

Because it’s funny. Also probably the psychoactive drugs that Joe uses are not meshing well with him being upset/jealous/etc. and are causing him to act in strange ways. Don’t do drugs and don’t go to art school kids.

But I do think that Rick and Morty Parody 16/30 is funny and is a good critique of online animation.

He does have a few original cartoons on his channel, focusing on some characters by the names of 'Audrey' and 'Victor'. They're decently charming but nothing too outstanding, the downward spiral shitpost content is more entertaining.

Despite having decent success, (most recent cartoon linked above having over 100K views, much more than any of his weird shit.) Ol' Joe seems to still be kicking the bucket because other internet animators *cough cough* Zach Hadel *cough cough* are getting bigger numbers than him, and he doesn't seem to care about artistic integrity, rather just getting a reaction out of people.

Because with someone so desperate, all publicity is GOOD PUBLICITY.
 
Hazbin, Digital Circus, Smiling Friends and than there is his crap that got nowhere apparently. Everyone moving on and he is being left behind, I can understand the pain, he can deny it by saying, "but muh corporate world", but what he really wants is very apparent.
Also, didn't he do a voice for an egg in the Hazbin Hotel pilot?
