I probably should have read this whole thread, but this nutcase was on people's radars for years, even before he started in with Scamkesian. Back before 9-11 he was an anti-corporate "media hacker" who did stupid shit and marched in anti-capitalist marches.

Then 9-11 happened, and this shit broke his brain. Some rumors say he witnessed that shit himself, others just point at the fact that it destroyed his upper-class brain.

He's a goddamn crazy person. Not in a "ha-ha, he's so crazy" internet fashion, but in an actual fucking crazy person way.

You can tell he's been self-medicating with booze for awhile. I mean, the unshaven, yellowish eyes, puffy face, shambling car wreck looks like hard core alcoholism. The way he flinches when people reach toward him, the way he hangs his head like a naughty little boy, and the way he completely rejects masculinity just screams "My brain is broken". From the way Scamkesian treated him, to the way he tries unsuccessfully to tell everyone that everything they like is naughty, to the way you can tell this soft manchild has never actually worked a fucking job in his life.

Some part of me feels bad for the guy. He's rich as shit, with a family that owns a private fucking island, and he's stumbling around with untreated mental illness. I'm kinda a softy in some ways.

Then the rest of me looks at the bullshit he spouts and the effect he had on pop culture, and wants to just point and laugh, because I'm old, and old people are dicks.

Normal people don't defenestrate themselves mentally for people who consider them mere 'allies'. He's broken and no longer has FF to use as a trumpet. He's e-begging online and doing it badly.

Everytime I see this thread pop back up on the first page, I quietly hope that maybe Josh McCool decided to cash in his crazy boy points and do something incredibly stupid like try to explain to a group of Hells Angles about toxic masculinity. Unfortunately this is never, nor ever will be, the case, and I suspect he'll probably just drink himself to sleep and drown in the bathtub at this point... and the only people who will care are us and MundaneMatt

I don't even think Josh McTosh deserves the attention of a lolcow thread. He's basically Anita with a cock and nobody wants to listen to a white hipster saying everything you like is trash, which is his only stance. His tweets, videos and patreon get much less attention and views than even fucking MovieBob. You can't even mock his ideas, they aren't even fucking rational. The academic jargon is even worse and he doesn't bother delivering it in an entertaining manner. At least MovieBob provides a hilarious contrast of a man-child, eugenic facist trying to be progressive. Josh is just an unemployed Gender Studies professor. He has no influence, no power and no backing. He is the lowest of the low on the progressive hierarchy (a straight, privileged white male), so nobody gives him the time of day. Not even the people he allies with.

To me, he's just another overbearing, rich, white piece of post-modernist trash doing an extended art project for his Gender Studies course which is only going on in his booze-addled, broken-brained head. There is nothing unique or special about his insights that separates him from any other of his ilk. Perfectly happy to let him rot in obscurity as he deserves the one thing he most fears: Being ignored.
