Artcow Jonathan Wojcik / Bogleech / Scythemantis

So basically, you stop believing in your own "speshul snowflake" status because the evil forces in the world of Mortasheen frown on your rebellion against conformity and your attempts to be a self-appointed iconoclast and subconsciously work on you to subvert the fact that your character might identify as something like a "gendervoid, foxkin, demiqueer". Considering who we are talking about I would not put it past Bogleech to have Mortasheen be nothing more than a giant soapbox like the Ryan's Amusements section from the Bioshock 2 game.
Sent you the wrong sticker my apologies. Anyways I don't think its like that, maybe its more like Mage the Awakening's Mad Ones where reality is trying to attack the characters themselves.

I do not know. I hope it is not like I think it is. Plus, most of the background and ideas might be coming from the developer rather than Bogleech himself, so there might be a possibility that we will get something besides SJW propaganda after all. Of course when all is said and done he might step in and take all of the credit for the background that the developer put together much like he apparently tried to do with Slimebeast.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. The way I read it it was like you being a mad scientist and crazy was the reason your creations can exist in the first place. That could be an interesting game mechanic. I'd like to see how it would work TBH. I'd be interesting in playing a game like that IF.. Bogleech wasn't attached to it. There really is no guarantee that he wouldn't shoehorn his beliefs in to the game. Hell, sadly I've seen that happen in some new editions side bars. Like getting a passive aggressive rant about if I don't accept a mummy's neo pronouns I'm a bad person.

>Be a madscientist with a scarbuncle
>raid a warbird hideout
>get hit on the face
>fall headfirst one a hard rock
>Get
sane and ponder the unrealistic and gravity defying body of your scarbuncle
>Your scarbuncle collapse on his own weight and die will murmuring his last word
>father why you made me like this

Speaking of wich mortasheenweekly did a 3D model of harlequeen. The old one to be precise. It ironic how bogleech desexed her entirely in the new design; no tits no tight don't even look human... I wouldn't mention it if he didn't delete the original from his da page like he's hiding something or else.

The only way I found it is in his website archive
current version

I think you're getting a little overboard my dude.

Also the newer one is a much more cooler in my opinion and Bogleech drawing sexy shit is not for me.

I really hope you're not saying you like the weird titty joker monster. There's nothing wrong with him going back and changing the design of it.

If he was looking for tiddy monster, then Bogleech was a mistake for it. Just go look up Castlevania or Dark Souls or DnD or something else.

It's just not Bogleech's style to keep anything exempt from the parade of horrors.

Actually the human supremacists, from tidbits around the web, state they're going to be portrayed sympathetically. With their master generally loving them out of his own heart

Edit; but he could've easily changed this. The oldest ingto I got from this was back in 2012.

...Sound interesting I'm digging for some more interessing lore
Mortasheen have a page on TV trope wiki(Some lore is proabably taken on the facebook tabletop project wich the page is gone, no archive)
The earliest mortasheen flash animation bog did, circa 2009
2 year later bog did a comic with the same scenario, this is the first time wraith make an apparition

Oh I forgot the wraith wasn't the first anti-mortasheen concept. In the proto-mortasheen(it was still named necromon) they were a special class of monster named celestial

In any case, it remains to be seen if Mortasheen will ever actually get off of the ground.

Say, does anybody have any information on the background of Reverche? She just seem to show up as Bogleech's girlfriend one day. I know that Bogleech was spending an awful lot of time on the Skepchick website which is an infamous sjw echo chamber, so I wonder if she came from there. It has been so long since I was on the Bogleech forum that I do not entirely remember the story behind how Reverche appeared but needless to say, it kind of went downhill from there.

Still, Bogleech seems to fit the behavioral pattern as somebody who would have been drawn into the sjw miasma one way or the other so if not for Reverche, he probably would have found other person to desperately white-knight for. Bogleech spends so much time trying to erase things that he has posted on the internet in the past and cover his tracks it often makes it difficult to piece together to see what made him go off the deep end so badly.

I don't think bog was a normal friendly guy who was totally corrupted by SJW rhetoric. Like some already mentioned he was probably already an unusual kind of SJW before.
After all if he became SJW just because he want to the good thing and he's gullible about how the world function wouldn't it be easy to cast some doubt in what he follow?
But no when you question him, even if you use very smart argument he will tell you how much your wrong and use very dumb child like logic and may throw petty insult if you trigger him enough.
He was always a bully, it's just before he was very insecure so he avoided to show his true nature

BTW I have some feeble memory of bog ex girlfriend (the clown chick?) I think the old design of harlequeen was for her I think. I do have clear memory of her da icon I know somewhere else bog mentioned her. But didn't found her account after some search ... It's very blurry

^^^^re: It not because I loved more the original harlequeen that I mentionned it. I just find it odd he deleted it will the other old monster design are kept. Following the occam razor he probably deleted it because it was ''problematic''

I think he's upgrading ever single one of them,

So I went to look at the staggering list of monsters that this game will have for your mad scientist to tame, and I will say that they are interesting, thought out creatures that would work great as mobs in a horror TTRPG that you players could try to get away from or fight. Yes, they could work as pets of a player mad scientist they're certainly horrific enough for such a concept.

The thing is from what I've been able to read about the world this game takes place in your character isn't seen as a bad guy the organisation that inflicts "sanity" on you is. From the description on the kickstarter page it sounds like you're playing a mad scientist strait out of an 80s Saturday morning cartoon with Franken Pokemon, but I've read some of the bios of these monsters and they're anything but.
Really I want to know more about the type of character you'd be playing. There are a lot of RPGs where you play what would normally be seen as the "bad guy" or "monster", any thing in OWOD could count. A game where you play the evil scientist bent on world domination with your monster creations could be fun, but I don't see Bogleech passing off this game like this. It's more like you have dangerous pets.

Take the Lester a monster that was made to infiltrate human settlements and "monitor their most natural, wild behavioral patterns from discrete observation points and harvest unattended, clearly unwanted juveniles for tissue samples."
Or it's female counter part the Lesley. If you really want a titty monster here it is I guess.
And my personal favorite (not really) the Pestquirm a baby zombie head filled with worms that was made by at best two zombies trying to fuck, or at worst a zombie trying to get it on with a human willing or other wise.

Again these would be great monsters to fight in a horror game, have the players try to avoid them and fight them off looking for a safe place to sleep for the night, but we know how Bogleech is about creepy things. Even if it's a horrid monster that causes people to eat until they die through mind control, or an abomination that shits out it's own eye in self defense, it's really just misunderstood and looking for love.

Edit: Just saw this old comment under the devil bird pic

No it's still insane even if it's based on scientific facts.

I am the only one who noticed the huge contradiction in tone of the rpg game? Like it grimdark setting with edgy monster, but how bog describe thing is like a kawai desu cute thing. Like he say each creature have some wholesome personality or stuff, the mad scientist are hero and the baddies is obviously the white heteronormative cis human(BTW cleaning the world of evil and pollution to be hospitable isn't a bad motive)
I'll wait till the rpg come out(If it even come out) to truly judge, Because sometime bogleech say something and later do the opposite. Hope it wouldn't be like AF who feel like an incoherent mess
BTW isn't odd that the kickstarter have no FAQ?

PS: My childhood RPG game was paper mario, so this the go to rpg reference. For me mortasheen's monster have varying level of sapience, you can either capture them or befriend them more like partner rather than pet. You travel the world resolving some local problem will having some beef with the main villain group but that just my headcanon

Mortasheen is a Table top RPG or also known as a Pen & Paper RPG, think Dungeons and Dragons because that's the one that everyone knows about. Most TTRPG stories are what the Story Teller wants to tell, there can be some ready made campaigns for groups to play but it's really up to the group. They really don't have a story line like RPG that are video games, you can do a lot more.

From what I read on the kickstarter there will be a lot of different mechanics ranging from taming/making monster pets to having your own lab to defend. It's all really up to the group.

I mean, if you're 'cleaning' the world for a very small group, it's not very moral. I think Mortasheen is a sort of controlled chaos, where the removal of a piece causes it all to fall down.
It also sounds a little genocide-y to me, since it's the extermination of sentient groups based on them not being human.

But the MC are also non-humans.
