I don't think it'll be the whole community as much as it will be pockets. I don't know about your neck of the woods, but I've seen several creeps tossed to the wolves in my area. Sort of like the scandal with private schools. It wasn't all of 'em, but it was the more prominent ones.

And that's my real concern with self ID as far as trans goes. With this insane idea of "you don't need dysphoria" and "even if you don't make any attempt ever you're still entitled to female spaces" is fucked. Like, sure, people who can't afford to or can't without risking their lives? Okay, I get it. BUT, it goes too far BECAUSE it gives creeps like Yaniv to lurk, waiting for people to harrass and possibly assault. One of those "nice in theory, impossible in practice" kinds of things.

I got your back, fam: All-bodies swim at Al Anderson pool in Langley City called off (archive).

The part about allowing topless swimming takes an already horrifying situation and makes it worse . It's creepy enough to mix kids as young as 12 with adults twice their age without trusted adults as chaperons and actively telling parents they aren't wanted there. Allowing inadequately-supervised topless swimming for such a group, especially if it had a large turnout, is a recipe for disaster. How any parent could accept the "no parents" rule without question is baffling, especially in light of #metoo and other situations where minors have been preyed upon away from watchful eyes.

It's telling, in a very bad way, that JY takes such an odd, creepy interest in this.

Why not both of the last two paragraphs? A lot of parents work hours that make it difficult to supervise their children for a decent chunk of the day, giving the latter plenty of opportunity to do whatever until they see their parents after work.

From reading the forum, I seem to recall court cases where minors are taking their parents to court -- and even get encouraged to do so by so-called activists -- over the alleged rights of the teens to transition and begin hormone therapy when they may still be too immature to evaluate the pros, cons, risks, and irreversible aspects of such as major decision. Normally, parents are the primary support system for impressionable teens and these "activists" really do appear more interested in driving a wedge between teens and their parents than any legitimate cause.

The criticism of abusive Catholic priests being swept under the rug is a justifiable criticism. However, the LGBT community (mostly the vocal extreme T minority) seems to actively, openly, and brazenly white knight those in their own community accused of the same, or deny such an issue even exists. It comes across as hypocritical when LGBT groups use the Catholic sex scandal as a way to advocate for ordaining openly-gay males as priests when the same groups see nothing wrong with white knighting for their own abusive members or sweeping them under the rug.
