His approval rating is hitting lynch mob territory.

Yaniv is fucked if Devyn Cousineau uses Twitter, something he deserves but I didn't expect him to get in painfully PC Canada.

Actually that raises a few uncomfortable questions. Sure the Twitter mob/BCHRT tribunal may make the right decision in this case but I think it's fair to say that giving Twitter mobs judicial power is ... not ideal. Courts are supposed to weigh the evidence and come to a decision, not just take the decision that the mob has settled on. Imagine what a Twitter mob would do to us, given that Twitter bans people for 'misgendering' and 'hate speech'. In fact in the UK we've seen how Twitter mobs can use hate speech laws to go after people like Harry Miller.

And if the BCHRT makes a populist move on this case, it may well survive longer than it should. When actually it should be disbanded as a kangaroo court. Playing to the Twitter mob makes it more dangerous in the long run, not less dangerous.

What we're seeing here is that Cousineau, by lifting the publication ban, can rule against Yaniv and be celebrated for delivering 'justice'. It may be the right decision in this case, but what the BCHRT and Twitter mobs deliver is not justice.

'Is he really trans?' Right now all it takes is saying you are and without a bladerunner style test that works out whether you are a replicant/trans. Self identifying is all that is required.

It shouldn't matter though because people do have bullshit/asshole detectors and can see whether someone is worth listening to or they are better off being ignored. The problem with trans activism is the blind acceptance and the ' you're an ally or you are an oppressor who is against us all'. It has lead to, among other things, this. It can supersede social sense. What other group needs 'allies' ?Thank you Jonathon (I hope you are still catching up on things here) for bringing this craziness to light.

He lays claim to a four-year computer science degree from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, BC. While a student there, he basked delightedly in publicity garnered by his Internet campaign for a National Sex Day.
> lays claim

Note: Yaniv has a 60-credit CIS (lol) diploma, not a four-year degree. Although it did take him almost four years to complete it.

Edit: Here's the info about Kwantlen's four-year IT baccalaureate degree (120 credits).

I know a few troons IRL and they've taken it really poorly when they've said "but he's not a reals trans person!!" and I've replied "so just saying you're a woman doesn't make you a woman?"

If you're cursed enough to know those sort of people I thoroughly suggest that as a way to get them out your life for good. Works a treat.

What really needs to happen is some mainstream media analysis after the fact of what factors, the tribunals' formation, purpose and justification included, allowed something like this to happen in the first place. That's the only way any lasting change will come out of this. It can't be as simple as writing off Yaniv as a lone psychopath who got as far as he did on his own.

To a certain degree I can understand a large degree of inclusivity in the trans community's case because the most obvious and conclusive purity rest involves an invasion of personal privacy the degree to which no person deserves to be subjected. "I am trans" should be a claim welcomed with open arms by the community and with no further demand for information; more details should be shared willingly in accordance with each person's wishes.

However.

I think any community has to be ruled by a social contract of one kind or another and violations of it should cause perpetrators to be considered for exclusion in accordance with the severity of their transgressions.

"Act right or git". This is why what Johnathan claims to be has so much less bearing on the coming backlash against him, at least to me. I'm not trans. Maybe to some trans people the fact that he's a walking mockery is much more insulting. That he's obviously a sexual predator inches away from his first offense, and that he's using well-meaning (but foolishly established) systems created to help the disadvantaged to get cash and his jollies at the same time makes him deserving of heavy critique at best and ostracism besides.

Tl;dr whether Yaniv is trans or not is much less important than what actions he's trying shield with his claims of being so. Not necessarily here but bringing his transness into an ontological argument is a black hole from which you can't escape; it's impossible to discount with the information we have. Much better to attack the fact that he's just a shitty human being.

I'm still gonna call him a guy ;)

I’m replying to myself because now I’m horrified.

Is Jenn planning to turn this into a demonstration? Handing out cards and pamphlets but literally NO concern for the victims?! Fuck off with you.

Troon narcissism never fails.

Edit:

Gill is probably their version of a popular Israeli name, Gil.

There was a male genital grooming fad 15 or so years ago, because of the association with male porn performers. Shaved ballsack = having lots of sex, the logic went.
Another thing - personal grooming technology for those areas has really improved by an amazing degree. Dudes don't really need to wax anymore down there, because we can buy shavers specifically for that area - I have one (It even says not to use on face, lol)
