His approval rating is hitting lynch mob territory.
Yaniv is fucked if Devyn Cousineau uses Twitter, something he deserves but I didn't expect him to get in painfully PC Canada.
Actually that raises a few uncomfortable questions. Sure the Twitter mob/BCHRT tribunal may make the right decision in this case but I think it's fair to say that giving Twitter mobs judicial power is ... not ideal. Courts are supposed to weigh the evidence and come to a decision, not just take the decision that the mob has settled on. Imagine what a Twitter mob would do to us, given that Twitter bans people for 'misgendering' and 'hate speech'. In fact in the UK we've seen how Twitter mobs can use hate speech laws to go after people like Harry Miller.
And if the BCHRT makes a populist move on this case, it may well survive longer than it should. When actually it should be disbanded as a kangaroo court. Playing to the Twitter mob makes it more dangerous in the long run, not less dangerous.
What we're seeing here is that Cousineau, by lifting the publication ban, can rule against Yaniv and be celebrated for delivering 'justice'. It may be the right decision in this case, but what the BCHRT and Twitter mobs deliver is not justice.
