They are also requesting he is declared vexatious. I don't really understand any of this legal stuff and it sounds like getting $35k out of Yaniv would be like squeezing water out of a stone but I do want to know where this will go.

I do find it interesting that this screenshot from the MM post mentions that the restaurant has had complaints over this matter before. Do you think Yaniv targetted this restaurant specifically knowing they would take issue with his untrained mutt, or did he shop around multiple kebab shops until he found one where the owners would step into his trap?

I think the takeaway is Edmund Liew is one of Yaniv's socks. SO he is spreading false rumors that they've had complaints for years.

The beauty in this is by countersuing even if Yaniv does his usual attempt to dismiss the case when things dont go his way, he's still fucked. ALso he appears to have been posting stuff using Donalds name for some of his insane postings. Which I'm pretty sure violates his prior court orders.

Being declared vexatious basically means he will no longer be able to file any more lawsuits in any court himself again. It essentially means there will be a lawyer assigned that will have to review and approve each lawsuit before it can be filed to court. It is probably what needs to happen and will eventually happen but would prefer if it did not. If he will never be allowed to sue anyone again then we will miss out on a lot of milk.

Getting 35k from Jonathan is super easy. Lien on his condo and then a forced sale?. Homeless saga to follow?

Your suspicion is 100% correct. But it isn't likely Yaniv would be thick enough actually to put that in writing. Oh wait, he did.

The US still has defamation laws, thus the SPEECH act wouldn't necessarily kick in.

If Yaniv was extremely wealthy, he could still pursue a defamation case in the US. Truth is an absolute defense to defamation in the US, but that's a "defense", in that you'll need to pay for a lawyer to invoke that defense in court.

If your state has a good anti-SLAPP law, then that becomes a lot cheaper, but still probably not 100% free.

Being in the US is probably an advantage in this case, but not just because the US has free speech and Canada doesn't (Canada doesn't), but more because suing someone across international boundaries is expensive as shit.

• Meowmix says Yaniv has been emailing their hosting providers to try and get Meowmix deplatformed. Yaniv is saying he has court orders that supposedly ban Meowmix from posting about him. He also accuses Meowmix of hosting revenge pornography.
• Meowmix challenged Yaniv to email the "court orders" to them, and this [link] [archive] was Yaniv's response. It's clear the "court orders" don't exist. Same with the "revenge porn".

• Yaniv is now suing a man named Omran Peroz, the owner of Afgan Kabob (a Halal restaurant in Surrey, BC). Yaniv basically claims they discriminated against him by not allowing him to enter with his "service" dog, and this was particularly bad since Yaniv says he was experiencing a medical emergency at the time due to low blood sugar (he needed to eat something immediately!! ). Yaniv is asking for $34k due to "injury to life, safety, security" (among other things).
• Note that Yaniv's "service dog" is entirely untrained & uncertified. Yaniv also routinely exaggerates his supposed medical issues and has a history of targeting businesses run by immigrants with his fraudulent lawsuits in hopes of an easy payday.

• Yaniv asked the judge to increase security in the courtroom because... "There have been a group of anti-LGBTQ2SIA+ activists that have been following me to all of my court proceedings and taking pictures of me within the courthouse. I am expecting a surge of anti-LGBTQ2SIA+ and pro-Muslim supporters to be there and I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my service dog."
• The judge promptly denied the application, lol. Meowmix notes that the only assaults that have taken place were committed by Yaniv himself (like when he attacked the Rebel News reporter who was simply filming him in public).

Many years ago, Yaniv worked as a social media manager for the Cimorelli band (which was made up of Lauren and four of her sisters when they were all very young). He's clearly still obsessed with the Cimorellis, even though they want nothing to do with him.
• Omran Peroz, the owner of Afgan Kabob, is counter-suing Yaniv for $35k. He is also asking for Yaniv to be declared a vexatious litigant!
