I'm mad at the internet. The whole point of adopting those areas is to keep them clean I thought, not to try and further validate your gender fairytale by plastering your new name everywhere. For shame on the town of Langley for even giving them these signs in the first place. There must not be any sort of verification process, or a very poor one if there is.

I find this whole sign thing interesting. According to the website, to adopt a street, you have to go out once a month and clean both sides. The street is at least one km long. You also have to fill out a report in details, along with where the trash can be collected.
As far as I can tell, he's adopted at least three streets (3km + in total). If he can't even walk a few feet without being winded, needs a scootypuff, has seizures, etc... how is he able to clean the roads? I can't imagine he can even bend over to pick something up without huffing and puffing.

I've got 100 quatloos that say this tagging was a random act of graffiti and not any sort of attempt to personally target JY in any way. There are many people that will vandalize anything without knowing or caring about what names appear on those signs. Of course, JY will still claim that whomever did it committed a hate crime that deserves nothing less than capital punishment.

TBF, the localities I'm aware of with an Adopt-a-Highway program have signs that note every individual or entity that has adopted portions of roadway. I imagine Langley, BC operates the same way.

Probably because it's not worth defacing or vandalizing public property to do something JY could legitimately cite as an example of targeted harassment. As much as there needs to be a spotlight on JY's bad behavior, this idea is not the best way to do that.
