Oooh ok ok. I didn't realize at first who this media outlet was. I'm much less upset about the lack of insanity now. So Karlene Nation is actually relatively well known in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). I don't know why "sauga" didn't click with me at first but duh, it's Mississauga talk radio. So not like, CBC tier, but pretty big locally. "Locally" being the greater Toronto area: a goddamed huge population. Most populated area in all of Leafland. So we were never going to get Jerry Springer here. They are major news outlet adjacent. All things considered, this is actually an excellent development. An absolute fuckload of Canadians heard all of that. They really did. Every cabby in the city, tons of office workers, etc. etc. I honestly wouldn't be entirely shocked to see CBC pick it up nationally if outlets like this are covering it.

The CBC will only weigh in on this when it becomes too obvious that they're not saying anything. The story is too messy for the champagne socialists that make up the majority of Canadian news media, easier to ignore it and whine about simpler things like Orange man bad.

I wouldn't be too sure they won't put a segment in The National if the story gets covered more by outlets like this one. I watch a lot of news and I've noticed a definite pattern: The National may be the most watched national news, but they are behind the story every single time. First, you see a story picked up by these adjacent outlets. Once two or three say something, the national CBC will say something. But they're never, ever the first to say anything. They're almost like an aggregator.

Edit: also I hope no one expects anything more than a retelling of the two sides of the story. Of course, the CBC or any major news outlet isn't going to editorialize on this. You aren't going to hear the word "predator" unless it's a quote from someone and even then, they'll probably just not quote whoever said it.

Ot slightly but sort of relevant-"women's" razors only cost more because of the pretty colours and the fact they are a complete pain in the arse to work with in terms or being made, and in an injectio moulding setting. They show flaws more, more get binned cos of it and they are a pain in the nuts

Only stupid women buy "womens" razors. And troons, but they're not women. Men's razors work better cos of the angle of the blade
