That isn't generally how it works. Especially when, according to the explanation of why the ban was lifted, the main reason seems to be that there was an (incorrect) assumption that the general public could not link Jonathan to the cases before BCHRT, and that he was doing nothing to link himself. He already linked himself, he can't un-link himself by saying there's some kind of threat to him when the public already "knows."

What's got me scratching my head is that we don't see all the same hallmarks in his behavior as we do in other perpetually oppressed lolcows (and I do agree with you, that motivation and pattern of thought is there). No 15-20 tweet-long screeds on perceived sleights, no crowdfunding his lifestyle, no whistleblowing at the media or inventing accomplishments to give the impression of success despite hardship. Yaniv's poured all of that into his tribunal visits, and while I'll grant you it's definitely a step up from the usual slacktivist route in terms of direction and maliciousness, at the same time it just doesn't read the same to me. He's either committed fully to the bit or he genuinely believes at least some of what he's shoveling.
