Sure they don't do background checks, which considering what they sell is bloody alarming to me. But if, once employed, something is brought to their attention regarding said employee which raises safety concerns then surely they'd be within their rights to naff him off and justifiably so?

Sort of - there's the Employment Standards Branch. Thing is - MLM doesn't count as "employment" (as in employer/employee relationship) and therefore doesn't apply in the case of Vector Marketing. It's actually better. Along with the lack of duty counsel, (public defender) it makes it so the judge acts as defense lawyer for the accused, and results in far more lenient sentencing for misdemeanours. Don't ask how I know.

Edited to say: it's changed since I ran afoul of it . The presumption is now of innocence, due to a Charter challenge.
