If you look into Fonus you'll find it's a shady operation that functions in some kind of grey area with wireless roaming, so his amazing marketing skills aren't going to help them. Even the website is questionable. It's right up JY's alley in terms of the company skirting the law. I guess the service is technically through AT&T in the USA and Fonus is purchasing network access from them. Part of the deal between Fonus and AT&T is that AT&T offers free roaming, which is why it works in Canada (or world wide apparently). As such you can't get a new Canadian number or port over an existing Canadian number; instead you'll be assigned a US number from a State of your choice. I think it's only a matter of time before AT&T cuts them off as apparently people are running up massive data usages via tethering. Some people got warnings texted to them from AT&T which say they've exceeded $400 in data charges, but when they inquire with Fonus they are told to ignore it. It also sounds to be hit or miss if you'll actually receive your SIM card in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. Lots of people have made credit card charge backs because SIM cards don't show up, only for them to eventually arrive.

It's 100% sketchy and I wouldn't give up a good grandfathered Canadian mobile plan over it, but people are actually getting the service promised by Fonus for the time being. You'll just be roaming the entire time in Canada and could be disconnected at any time. Not sure I'd trust them with my personal or credit card info either. It's probably a good deal for heavy mobile data users while it lasts. JY will be going nowhere with this weirdo company. It likely won't even exist in 12 months.

No sane doctor would prescribe him titty skittles. He is way too unhealthy physically and mentally. Of course, he could always doctor shop, but whoever allows him to take them may risk a medical lawsuit following his death from complications related to high BP.
