My point was actually just that, under Canadian Bankruptcy law, bankruptcy won't help Yaniv or solve his financial issues. He will still owe Amy whatever settlement she is awarded, and any legal fees that he is assigned to pay. He will still owe the Crown any fines for his assault.

He lost his liquor sample job because of Covid. Sure he probably would have been fired anyway. Sure he probably can't keep a job because of his personality disorder and his appearance, but I highly doubt that the CRA is going to go after people because they were already well on the way to being financially fucked. I didn't know about these, but I don't think he would qualify. BC Housing is fairly stingy about qualifying for things and the program is suspended anyways due to Covid.
