A former moderator admitted to beating up his mother, looting houses, abusing moderator privileges, and begging the site for money to fund his drug addiction. He wasn't permanently banned until he got arrested for possession of child pornography (something his brother got charged with a decade earlier). They then pretended they never knew the guy. As long as you're on their team, all sins are overlooked until it becomes too disadvantageous to have you around.

That first link is some fight the dev had with another guy seven years ago. Even the "victim" admits they were both being idiots and doesn't care about what happened.

The second link is to a forum about making Mario fan games. Almost everything's been edited so I can't really tell what's going on. The Tumblr link in the OP is dead but Archive.org saved this rant. I don't care enough to go through that autism. Given the blog has since been deleted, I'm guessing the author also doesn't care anymore.

My conjecture: The main audience for these kind of games is grown ass 30 year-olds who still cling onto "the good ole days" of their childhood in the form of a specific video game genre that hasn't been relevant in nearly 20 years.

For many of these people, and especially those who are exceptional enough to regularly post on video game forums, these Kickstarter collectathons represent the resurrection and resistance of those glory days against the "soulless" video game trends of today.

Any scruple or case of politics that they don't like infringes upon this glorious vision, leading them to freak out and show their outrage in the form of whiny tweets, caps lock messages, and very indignant walls of text.

I'm pretty sure it's been said quite a few times now but he had a debate with Destiny, who has his own thread here, and Jon talked shit about immigrants and other current hot-button issues which would be enough to earn him the permanent ire of Twitter, but he wasn't very good at articulating his points either, which he admitted himself I believe. Before that he already encountered a few backlashes from SJWs, like when he called PSN+ "retarded" or when he RT'd a satirical comic about Zoe Quinn.

I don't think it should matter what Jon thinks of immigrants anyway when his livelihood has nothing to do with politics but that's current year for ya.
