The worst thing is, you can't tell if they're being intentionally humorous or dead serious because they've blurred the lines far too often. The whole Reddit echo chamber phenomenon needs to be in-depth academically studied, dissected, and analyzed as a whole.

For those wondering why based was arrested, it seems its because they made a discord channel titled "uno reverse clips" with the goal of collecting clips of people, including Alex, that have "attacked based" with a 1000$ bounty for such clips. The OP of the channel included a wanted poster with a picture including Alex, Sogeking, and one other. Alex claims the bounty was for clips of people hurting him, leading to the arrest.
Don't know if that's what caused it, but people in the discord are claiming it as the reason he got arrested.

Based has shut down his Discord and claims he won't return until the situation has passed. Don't think this includes streaming, but its unclear.
