I'm going to step in here and say it's only begging if they fucking suck like Tom. In lean times of my life, I have resorted to busking. A busker doesn't go up to people and ask for money, they just do their thing and if you like it you can tip.

There is an unwritten rule though that you have to be able to play, or you're just a clown. In my country, you have to have a license to busk (oi, you got a license for that busking?) but it's only ever enforced if someone is making an unholy racket. I've never been stopped busking by the cops, even had them stop and listen a couple of times. Some pissed up pikey tunelessly blowing a tin whistle gets moved in in minutes. All you've heard me play so far is a cover, how would that make you know anything about how I improvise or play? I know enough to say you suck, at least.

I did another song taking the piss out of a lolcow (well I didn't write any of the lyrics to that one, unlike yours where Radioactive Monkey Man helped me and I did a few) but what I did do is noodle along playing lead in the guitar all the way through. Now, I'll admit it's not ground-breaking stuff, and fairly formulaic, but it shows a better knowledge of scales, phrasing and timing than anything you've ever done. It's in the OP of this thread, go have a listen, and tell me how much better you are than me after. I'm not even a high bar to clear, but you're never going to be anywhere near.
