Journalism is a collection of glorified blog posts, how can this be reversed

I've been going on A&H for 5 years now and it's very annoying that a significant amount of articles are basically blog posts. How can news outlets be convinced to increase the quality of their work?

Broadly speaking, three things need to happen.

1: A lot of layoffs. A lot of these writers just aren't worth keeping, and there's too many fish in this pond to begin with.
2: The indie space has to completely overtake the blog-post format, to the point that they are no longer seen as viable for news outlets to pursue it
3: Said news outlets need to actively want to return to the center, even if it's only for self-serving reasons.

Those three combined will eventually produce the news outlets seeking out the niche they've always been best suited for: being the source of truth in reporting, not the first to the post or the emotional heart. Giving thorough reporting with minimal emotional bias. That is the niche larger organisations can fill in this space.

Journalism is and probably always has been infested with people who want to insert themselves into the story Hunter Thompson style. They are not just interested in reporting the news they want to be the news since they are narcissists. Yesterday they stroked their ego and adventured through muckracking. Today a majority of 'professional' journalists are to the left. Leftism is centered around 'saving' the supposed oppressed and underdogs and fighting the supposed oppressors. And what better way to do that and have everyone notice you then through a job that bounces you around the biggest stories?

Its kind of like politics. Often the worst candidates are the ones who come seeking the job.

Close all journalism schools.

Journalism used to be a trade. You started getting coffe for the reporters, then reporting on local sports games and the crineblotter. You learned by doing and listening to old hands.

As you improved, you got better assignments and more space.

Most of the celebrated journos started that way.

You also get more actual people into the profession that way, as opposed to middle class NPCs who can afford $100K+ tuition.

You can't. Modern journalizm is financed by ads so their financially incentivized to publish whatever geets them the most views.

Right, plus you developed your own style of journalism from the learning on the job vs. learning the exact same things from the same people leading to generic journalism.

Even more ironically it commodifies the field more than when it was a trade. If everyone is interchangeable it makes you a lot less valuable as an individual.

You know any genuine journalist will be declared a "whistleblower" and killed on sight, right?

The powers that be do not allow true journalists...

Journalism is the propaganda arm of the ruling principalities. Always has been, always will be.
