Judge Judy - Other court shows fine too

Just a second.

Wow, she is drop dead gorgeous when she's not playing judge. Looks like the late Jessica Walter laying down the law on people.

I've got a love / hate relationship with the show - I love it as it's a bit of trash TV that doesnt seem to be lead by drama but I hate it as it was the only damn thing on on a Sunday afternoon and my mum watched it non stop.

I have to say Burt is fucking amazing, just a naturally chill guy who knows his job does it well and is a really genuinely nice bloke - I saw a interview with him and he was a real Court Officer in NYC an worked for Judy or in her courtroom and where legitimately friends, an he moved to LA to start his music business a few years before she got the show and found out Judy was getting her a show emailed her and she hired him in a heart beat, get's paid to stand there an do crosswords most of the time, look up a car value in that book and occasionally pass things to her - his music while not my taste is legitimately good and his knowledge of the music business has come in handy to the show a few times, and just seems like the sorta guy everyone gets along with.

I have two questions -

1) Does anyone recall the guy who was on the show and started a campaign because he lost (justifiably so) and was spamming it everywhere he could think it was called Joke Judy, dude had a hate boner because he had to fork out $5k for some debts he racked up with a Girlfriend and he tried to do a runner.

2) Does anyone rember the claim that she was the highest paid TV presenter in the US for a while, like a good while for the shows run? Was there any truth to that because honestly that's a really cheap show to film per segment $10k in "appearance fees" the courtroom extras are all people getting there SAG card renewed (that miss piggy look alike was spotted at least once when she wasnt getting work) so are doing it for free, 2 Camera guys, sound guy not much in the way or any need for much else etc and it was broadcast in prime time / non stop etc.

If you couldn't tell she was Jewish just by looking at her then you're a complete retard.

Not to mention her voice.

From what i have heard, she was scoring a million a year in the last years of her contract.

Love this thread, and during the original run I had a crush on one of the re-occurring audience members. It seemed to be a thing to set a pretty woman (an aspiring actress LA-type) in the center of the background of all the cameras, for years, so I would be surprised if I am the only one who was as equally fixated on the background dressing as the main show.

As a byline to the pretty foid in the background, I would fixate on the relative demeanor of regular audience members wrt guessing whether they are hungover and from what chemicals (and what the producer had said to prime or stifle their reactions). Remember how part of the "In-joke" for a while was how the court party members could hear the announcer roast them during the opening?

In retrospect I was only unsurprised to hear and learn of how many broke actors and stand up comics played the role of Peoples Court cast members to collect that juicy $5000 payout.

I looove looking at who is in the background. There's the guy with fire red hair, a girl with big lips that look like botched injections, two gay guys in goofy suits, I could go on. Lots of pretty ladies, for sure. Noticing subtle reactions is fun too.
And this poor dude...

i don't watch daytime television like old people
Nigger, daytime television can be great if you're sick as a dog and need something to watch.

When I used to have cable and couldn't do shit because I was sick, that's all I binge watched... Judge Shows, and Law & Order. Seeing dumbasses get punished for doing dumbass things is awesome.

old and dying huehue. watch youtube chud

Every so often I’ll be at the barber or whatever and Judy is on the tv. I’m always like, “damn, the girl’s still at it.”
Reminds me of staying home from school, good times.

I bring you the time that John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten, former frontman of the pioneer British punk band "The Sex Pistols" appeared on Judge Judy:

Lydon has always been very clever and entertaining alongside his abrassiveness so he got a lot of slack I think (it also helps that he was somewhat of a celebrity too).

Edit: I can't find the full, entirely unedited version but I imagine it's out there somewhere. Right now I can only find fragments and edits in different videos. I definitely saw the full thing on the Internet at one point though...

Whoever has the copyright to the show seems to be pretty bad on getting stuff taken down, which is a shame because I believe a large chunk of the 2000s episodes aren't available anywhere, which is where a lot of iconic episodes come from. Pluto has the 90s episodes and they still air the 2015+ episodes plus upload them on the official channel (in an obnoxious parted up way)
Wait, aren't you supposed to laugh? That gives me flashbacks of laughing when I'm not supposed to.
He might have been laughing too loud and often.

She's kinda entertaining but a lot of the time she doesn't know what she's talking about. I watched a bunch of the new show she has and there was one episode where a couple were saying they were common law married in Texas. I can't remember the specifics now but she was saying they weren't and that no state does it like they were saying. I took 5 minutes and looked it up and they were right and Judy was completely wrong.

It also just got really irritating how she constantly asks people questions and then interrupts them after 2 seconds of their answer acting like they aren't answering her question when they are if she'd just shut the fuck up and listen.
There's a reason she does that, she can tell they're full of shit. And she wants a straight answer, not this talking out of both sides of your mouth bullshit.

People who are honest, who tell the truth, they have nothing to fear from Judge Judeo.

She's pretty good looking considering her age. I don't know if I would call her 'gorgeous' but she definitely looks good for her age.

She's a fucking legend. Cuts off and doesn't take shit from liars, but is respectful when people show respect in kind. Even when there a ruling I disagree with, I still kinda get where she comes from.
Also those random episode compilations on YouTube are the perfect option when you don't know what to put on.

Edit: I also really like in her new show the post-case chats with her granddaughter. Having her explain her reasoning more after the fact and be questioned on it is fun.

I also enjoyed seeing Judge Judy rip people to shreds for lying, general cluelessness, or making bad/irresponsible decisions.

Additional Judge Shows I liked:

Judge Hatchett: I liked the reality checks she gave troubled teens whose bad decisions were taking them down a bad path. I also liked how she'd handle her paternity cases in insisting men take responsibility for the kids they sired while at the same time calling out the women who insisted a guy was the father when DNA tests ultimately proved otherwise.

Texas Justice: I can still hear Judge Larry Joe telling people talking out of order to "Put a lid/sock in it!" His bailiff, William, was equally entertaining - especially his facial reactions to some of the crazy stuff people would say or do.

People's Court: The OG of court shows, in my opinion. The case I'll never forget from the Judge Wapner years was someone suing what I believe was a party store for 75 cents over a bad can of beer -- and winning. I doubt we'll ever see a sub-dollar judgement in any of today's court cases.

Here's an odd case. I wish they would expand more on ones like these. There was a similar multipart upload I'll have to try and find later
Also look at the immediate start of the video to the left girl, she seems to be mad and arguing about something to maybe the black girl on the other side of the aisle.

Joe Cumia (has a thread) on People's Court

I believe the person behind the entire thing (who sent the one guy Joe's posts) was the O&A subreddit posted KillaKuhn who later became famous for something very different.
