A Just Stop Oil spokesman said: “We know that our government’s plan for new oil and gas is going to lead to more people being displaced from their homes. Forced from where they have lived for generations due to the actions of our failing politicians.
This is the most tenuous connection they could possibly have come up with. I don't know how anyone can see this and not ponder how these are just astroturfed organizations made up of useless idiots doing the bidding of whatever leftist cause du jour their masters desire. Yesterday it was oil, today it's flooding the country with migrants who can't be effectively assimilated, tomorrow it will be abortion, the next day it will be disarming the public, and so on.

It's started, then. No berating, no shouting. Just quietly driving over them until they go away.

I'm sure I've said something like it here before, but to re-iterate: Kipling wasn't bluffing when he wrote "oh beware my people when my people grow polite". When the English are griping and shouting and yelling about something, you can be sure you're fairly safe to continue, because they're not pissed off to really do something about it. They're angry, sure, but they're willing to let it slide if you ease off a bit for a while. It's when they get quiet that you should worry, because that means they've been pushed far enough to get off their lazy backsides and do something. This puts the anglo in a foul mood, because he'd much rather stand in a queue and complain, so whatever he does now is going to be driven by anger at the imposition as much as anything.

Our rulers have known, since at least Charles the second, how far to push the mob and when to back away and let it blow off a little steam. These activists don't have that understanding, so they've kept pushing and pushing, and pushing, and now people are getting pissed off to the point that the normal arithmetic, in which the willingness to fight back is balanced against the possible risk of punishment by the state, is no longer in play. It may take a little while to fully express, but I think this might just be the moment the country turned on these green idiots.

“Have you any idea how much damage that bulldozer would suffer if I just let it roll straight over you?”
“How much?” said Arthur.
“None at all,” said Mr. Prosser,

Have to disagree a bit. We were past that point a while ago, it's just that then the state was punishing people for doing it. Now it's someone employed by the state, if not directly. This is less the people losing patience and more someone deciding that the bad press is worth it. Or that the bad press will be balanced by more good.

This is not the Anglo coming to hate moment. This is another step towards the Judges and the justice system becoming something that never sees the court room.

What really saddens me is the amount of old people in these protests.

Like, the inability to grasp the simple reasoning that their behaviour will only turn people against environmentalism, I could understand that from a bunch of kids, but so many of these people look like they're close to retirement age.

Those older people, at least the leaders, have spent their entire lives in a hugbox. Some young people in activism never move on, they become old people with 40, 50 years of doing nothing but activism. They never gave themselves an opportunity to acquire some self-awareness

A lot of them are there because they have regrets about a time in their youth when they had the opportunity to become activists and "do something", but let it pass them by. They've latched on to this youth movement as a way to make up for it, in the belief that the young must surely know what needs to be done, because they knew what needed to be done when they were young. Add in ignorance about the actual topic, meaning they take what they're told by younger leaders and authority figures as gospel. They want to finally make a difference before they peg out, maybe even be remembered by future generations.

I've met some of them. They can be absolutely lovely but they are also the sort of people who, on the anniversary of the IRA murdering children in somewhere with 30 minutes of where they currently are, will try to claim the IRA were the equivalent of the French Resistance during the Nazi occupation. And they wear "not my king" merchandise on the coronation.

The latter is largely harmless. The former if the wrong person heard them say it, and given where they were was a genuine possibility, could see them beaten to death and I'd likely side the with the person doing the beating.

Same deal (opposite side of the coin) as the Boomerwaffen fedposters.

They targeted gamers again.....

This time, it was Capcom Pro Tour Offline France, some jackass jumped on the stage during a Street Fighter 6 match waving orange paint around.

Unrelated, but why is the security at EU fighting game events so bad? There were a good 12 seconds between when the guy ran up on stage and when someone else finally ran up to stop him.

It's frustrating seeing motorists and people say "I agree with them but they shouldn't do it in this way" because that validates them on their ideals when their ideals are wrong. They want all energy to be renewable right now which is impossible. They don't have any argument against nuclear energy and it's all based on a feeling that's been radicalised to the point of absurdity.

This isn't activism, it's attention-grabbing performance art, and it comes with a self-righteous defensive mechanism built right into it. "This is to save the world, therefore all of your complaints are petty and invalid." It's wonderful thing for narcissists with delusions of grandeur.

Id love to watch some of that multiculturism in Britain take a hammer to these people.

They're called Just Stop Oil... and they oppose the best way to stop oil, just like every other carbon copy eco group. Is there any left-wing environmental group that isn't a grift or made up of morons? I'm guessing no.
