But don't these groups specifically do this stuff as some kind of attempt to get people to hate climate activism?

These are old ladies, the people in charge were probably like "Hey, if you guys want to help you should go try to trash a national document! You're old so you won't get in much trouble; make sure that you take these shirts so everyone knows the person attacking their cultural history are anti-oil!"

This seems almost cartoonish in its attempt to draw peoples ire.

I still feel that the “false flag by Big Oil” narrative is a bullshit cope made by environmentalists that refuse to admit that their movement is cultish and prone to performative bullshit. It's not as if the environmentalist movement is grassroots and fighting for the benefit of the working class, most of their money comes from rich celebrities and their goals fundamentally come down to ruining the lives of ordinary Americans. Wouldn't surprise me if some particularly indoctrinated crazies decided to engage in vandalism for the sake of their stupid goals.

Grandma. Grandma, no. No. Grandma. Grandma, stop. It's shatterproof glass, Grandma. Grandma, your arthritis.

Lonely old biddies are desperate for attention. Their kids want fuck all to do with them, it's hardly surprising they can be easily groomed by a bunch of predatory leftists.

Lock them up in the old folks home and increase their meds ASAP.

Many old paintings need it, so if you see paintings in a museum (which admittedly is rare since we have galleries for a reason) then they're also likely going to be replicas.
Well then, how likely is it that the Van Gogh painting that these same people attempted to deface was also a replica? It seems just as likely that a delicate and famous painting would be under the same protocols as a perishable document.

They should choke slam these old bitches straight to their deaths for attempting this.

OK, but what is this gay A-Log shit? Yeah, brah, let's totally violently assault these decrepit, dementia-riddled old grannies who are no threat to anyone or anything.

Are Britons just incapable of fighting now? Have they really become so weak that they won't put these hags on the ground?

These women have a combined age of 167. If you just wait for five minutes, time will do it for us.

They've got enough brains to know that stopping state permitted acts of vandalism especially while several dozen people are recording them is an excellent way to get the criminal punishment most of this lot won't.

Sort of like how most Americans recognised that doing anything about the Burn Loot Murder side of 2020 would see them locked up.

Reminds me of the videos of Isis destroying pre-Islamic artifacts. How is this group not labeled as a terrorist group? Imagine if the Proud Boys tried to destroy the Declaration of Independence.
There is a lot of autism on this thread. These retards don't actually destroy art. They just make a mess on the protective screens to get attention. The retards who threw soup at van goh knew that there was a glass screen. They just did it to get on the newspaper. Like a CoD game having a scene which is contraversial enough to get attention, but not severe enough to get the game banned.

These women made 2 half hearted attempts and then called it a day. The cracks in the glass mean that every newspaper can freak out and get an eye catching headline like "Magna Carter Under attack from Oil Loons!"

Your fuming and seething just gives them more attention. Kinda like the taking the knee thing in America; if everyone ignored it these people would piss off eventually.

His work is only a little over 120 years old, so its very likely it was actually the real thing. Especially since one of the main points of the galleries are for people to look in detail on many of the paintings, so you are a lot more likely to find people who will be able to notice replicas and get upset over it.

Makes sense for it to be locked behind shatterproof/bulletproof glass, though, more just to prevent people from damaging it a la the Mona Lisa

It's hilarious that the absolute impotence of the guard nigger is a more meaningful takeaway from the video than whatever the geriatric coots were doing. He has to watch people trying to vandalise the property he's paid to protect and all he can do is beg the onlookers to stop filming it. Sad!

Is it just me, or is there a sort of Boomer-Zoomer political alliance?
The Boomers, after a lifetime of being Boomers (literally) are so taken over by TV brainrot and will believe anything on the TV, which is the same narrative pushed onto the Zoomers on TikTok, that there's like this weird convergence of old people and very young people believing the same retarded Leftist ideas?

Along with environmentalism, take the tranny thing. Boomers, the same people who were opposing the very legalization of gay marriage, are now completely naive, politically correct, girldick suckers.

Or am I the schizo?

SJW, woke ideology is just weather underground and SDS ideology exhumed for the 21st century, even down to "anticolonialism" and anti-whiteness.

During the 60s and 70s, it was boomers who were hippies. Many of the same top players in the aforementioned organizations eventually wormed their way into the higher ranks of academia and government. You do the math.

Protesters from one of JSO's retarded continental sibling organizations interrupted a couple of matches at the Italian Open:

In heritage and artefact management there is the agents of deterioration, which are 10 primary threats that affect all artefacts. One of those 10 includes thieves and vandals, just like those old ladies; I can assure everyone on this forum that the museum they went to went through those agents, took into account the potential for someone to attempt to steal/vandalise the magna carta, and put measures in place to ensure the real magna carta was at no risk. What they attempted to vandalise was a replica meant for the general public.

Not quite.
There are indeed robust risk assessments carried out by conservators and curators but exhibition spaces are designed to mitigate those risks. The prevailing aim of institutions is still to facilitate public access to original materials - they're really not hoarding all the heritage material in the strongrooms and fobbing off the unwitting punters with facsimile copies. If that were the case they'd be able to display them for longer, with better lighting levels and less glass in the way.
Also, an 800yr old parchment and ink document is a robust thing - it's survived centuries of sub- optimal handling and storage and survived. We don't have the flimsy documents they didnt survive. Plus, they will have been treated by conservators to stabilise them, before they'd be signed off for exhibition. The security risk assessments are done. The case is designed to withstand attacks.

There's a whole sector designing and implementing preservation environments, transport crates and display environments because museums very much believe in displaying originals wherever possible.

Tl;dr, You're generally viewing original material in museums.

Sauce: Look, I've already doxed enough of my career as it is.

Yeah, that's how these people work. Ignore them and they go back to living normal lives...or some of them do and others start getting more and more aggressive trying to get attention. Best to just nip it in the butt now and make an example of some of them.
