Penny being in STEM is unrealistic. Most of these Penny types are usually Student Athletes promoting BLM these days or do easy shit like Communications or some pozzed gender studies bullshit.
There was an article on old school Cracked.com eons ago before it got pozzed. It was about the beauty standards or modeling of actors in American sitcoms compared to British sitcoms. Like the actors in British sitcoms looked kind of normal whereas in American sitcoms of the same story or type, they all look like models. If Penny was a fat dangerhair fuck, I would call it somewhat realistic.
There's also a big, big gulf between how the UK TV scene finds and picks its actors too, versus the US. In the UK, nearly every single decent actor you can name from this side of the pond has been under the Limelight, and had to learn to assume different roles, including classics on the stage. This allows them to refine their talents and abilities to the point they're seen on more stuff when they transition to TV.
In the USA, it seems a lot of the time it's considered how they look on TV first, before their actual acting is considered, and the stage and TV scenes are far more segregated, you can click through a
lot of US actors and find no hint of Broadway or even community theatre experience.
The big reason there was a huge hiring spree (that's still going on) in the US for UK actors is they're a lot better, and a lot more used to redoing the same scene 20+ times for a perfect take without complaint as they've had to do pretty much the same to nail that 2 performances a
day for several months at a time.
It's no surprise that any even halfway decent US actor will have a theatre run in the UK at some point or another, and will often come out of it a lot better than when they went in.
Okay I dont have any issues with Barbara Lagoa, but if she is the pick she needs to be the pick because she is the best pick (for ease of getting through and likely to protect our rights down the road) NOT because she's a latina.
There is no problem with appointing women and/or minorities to goverment positions, the issue becomes if you are appointing them BECAUSE they are women and/or minorities.
The Republicans will never be able to out IDPOL the Democrats, so don't bother trying.

Them"Lol okay whatever, Sheldon Cooper!"
My one concern with the two top picks is they've not been on the bench for very long... is there a curve ball we're not considering or seeing? The rumour Trump was going to announce in Florida looked like it would be Lagoa, but now the announcement on Friday is from the White House seems less likely.
Next time someone calls you Sheldon, stab them in the hand with a steak knife, then go "BAZINGA!"
