You actually think Trump and the Republican senate would hold off from cramming someone through with the nuclear option? By the time the election comes around, her replacement will already be sitting on the court.
Yes? they have 3 weeks to push a new justice. they would be breaking the record from 51 years ago for shortest time from nomination to confimation. the libs remember how they fucked them in 2016 too. its not happening.

It was said that she was good friends with the strict constitutionalist jurist, Antonin Scalia. If a man of such strict moral principles and uncanny wit can see the humanity in her then I will afford RBG the same benefit.

It was sad that she could not enjoy her last days in peace and while I do not believe in a God or heaven; if one exists I hope she is in it with her good friend Antonin Scalia.

RIP to the woman herself. She stayed on far, far too long, but exactly how much of that was of her own volition and not political pressure, I'll never really be able to say. I wish her a well deserved rest and comfort to her family and friends.

As for the political timing of this news, well...

Given how fucking dire things are right now, I think they will go through with the nuclear option if it will mean resolving the issue before it can affect the vote too badly.

Unless BLM/Antifa ends up pulling a McVeigh and actively takes credit for it then I think this the October Surprise for 2020 a couple weeks early.

Given the whole Merrick Garland drama where it was all on an unspoken rule that McConnell more or less defied, I think Cocaine Mitch is slimy enough to throw caution to the wind and do everything he can to make sure the "nuclear option" is used and the court seat is filled before the start of November.

If we're lucky, it'll be in early October and that gives us a tiny bit of breathing room between now and the actual election.
If he gets one in and wins the election, I am certain Thomas will resign from his post. Don't know why, but it's a gut feeling.

He's added quite a few to his list. I suspect he might choose a woman, not only for broad appeal but to bait the retards in the Dems to run the Clarance Thomas/Brett Kavanaugh playbook again, but this time on a woman. Will destroy any credibility that MeToo has left.

That's true, but at the same time the GOP does control the Senate and McConnell's a slimy bastard who will use every dirty trick in the book just like his Democrat compatriots. There's also the big "nuclear option" that the GOP has held off on using twice already with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

This is going to be a hell of a mess, that's for sure.

I'm not gonna be some disingenuous prick that rightfully stood against everything this old hag believed in life, but pretend she's special for "holding strong to her convictions" in death. The bitch literally believed that an artist open to commissions has zero right to refuse a commission because they do not wish to depict the subject matter they're being asked to.
We're all crabs tonight.
