It's still dumb and part of a general lowering of standards and lack of creativity in the music industry. It used to be that people didn't want to use other people's material in songs because they had to give them a share of the songwriting royalties (this is why Jimmy Page tried to get away with not crediting Jake Holmes, Howlin' Wolf, Willy Dixon etc.). Nowadays the songwriting royalties are relatively worthless, so producers are fine with a song having umpteen "writers" from all the samples they used as that's not how they earn the money anyway.

Giant corpos are known for making money with the namesake, and especially the music industry where they take musician's names for profit, even after death. Plus, Michael Jackson has always been right about the greed of record companies (in this case, his take on Sony)

Finally listened to Vultures (I and leaks) and even as a mayo yuropoor that generally dislikes niggerhood, I can say the album is quite great.
I really have not expected to like it, I'm not a Ye listener at all. Beg Forgiveness did it for me. And then I found 530 Car Missing.
