I’ll give him and Jay-Z credit, they do merit some respect for not pulling a Roman Polanski and moving to a scummy country that won’t extradite them to the states. They have the money, surely they have expensive attorneys who have intel over how fucked P Diddy is. Yet they have more faith than some of Epstein’s clients.

That's interesting. I guess the only difference then with the way I see "internet famous" is that when you become someone like him, with his reputation you see all those nasty comments and positive comments and comments from people trying to use you (his recent manic phase had thousands of comments from cryptobros trying to get him to launch a memecoin).
I think even for the best, most stable and kindhearted people that kind of volume of opinions can be extremely overwhelming and it kind of makes sense that (according to his wikipedia) he took like a year long break from social media after he was first hospitalized for bipolar disorder (or at least that is what the doctors call it).

I mean no one can call Kanye lazy, he records a lot of music, presumably does a heavy touring schedule (or at least did so in the past) and is fairly active on social media, has relationships, has kids and all of that plus a continuous stream of hypercritical/hyperautistic commentary picking apart a person's appearance is overwhelming - I know KF commentary is like, but I've also seen the kind of shit people write on Instagram and Twitter and it's not that different.

This isn't really a commentary on whether "Ye" is "good" or "bad" just that I can see that internet fame (and even traditional fame) can markedly change a person's psychology - I've seen similarities with DSP and also with Elon Musk and several other celebrities recently (arguably even including MrBeast)

I hope the current generation (generation zoomer or beta or whatever) who all profess that they want to be famous livestreamers or social media influencers have the message pumped into them that this shit of "I want to become famous" is a fucking bizarre existence that isn't very healthy in the short or especially long term.

I don't think they do a deep dive when it comes to verification like some may think - it takes a few days at most and I think they generally just look for people who are impersonating very well known people. The description of the account may have been different when it was first registered (or even the same) to mislead Twitter verification staff into allowing it.

And remember: this is a paid verification status. You pay like $5 a month or some shit and Twitter spends like 48h to "verify" it. It is not a "notable figure" verification tag.
