🐱 ‘Karen is a slur’

CatParty

Over the weekend, renowned anti-trans activist Julie Bindel had a thought she decided to share with the internet. Karen, the archetypal racist, classist, and entitled white woman, is clearly, according to Ms. Bindel a “woman-hating” slur “based on class prejudice.”

Some had trouble believing that in the middle of a global crisis this is what Ms. Bindel and her TERF allies were getting het up about. But sadly, yes, the Karen discourse is real and it hasn’t stopped even after several days of it making its way around Twitter.

Karen’s across the internet were in fact quick to agree with Ms. Bindel. Writer Katrina Gulliver felt the need to bring back an old tweet in which she’d claimed that Karen was actually about policing women for asserting their rights in a consumer setting.

However, Karen has never been about that. As screenwriter Camilla Blackett explained so succinctly, “Karen is a catchall for entitled middle-class CIS white women who weaponize their status against the working class and minorities.”. Karen isn’t valiantly asserting her consumer rights, Karen is trying to get someone fired for not accepting an expired coupon—and she absolutely is not oppressed for doing so.

Its an act of incredible Karenness that people are still attempting to argue that Karen is a slur after several days of this, but at least it’s brought us all some great Twitter humor to lighten up another Monday in lockdown.

It always comes back to Harry Potter.
"Neurodiverse" is one of my favorite bits of newspeak.
"Furby fandom is a haven for Faggots, Retards and Schizos"
Lets fix that particular title for honesty, shall we?
"JK Rowling, Harry Potter etc"

I love seeing the bubble in action. Always way behind the curve and the last to notice everything. "Karen" as an insult has been around for months, if not years. Naturally it's only become important (to this bint anyway) now that mighty Twitter has noticed it.

They're almost as slow as the media at picking up (and reporting) on trends.

Dumb Karen. No manager for you.

So, the hundreds of thousands of people named Karen out there will just have to legally change their names, I guess.

Unless they want to be proud transphobes!

Seriously, the last fucking film came out in 2011, why in the fuck is there STILL this ridiculous obsession with it?

It was the Star Trek TOS of it's generation... creating the mystical anything-goes universe in which all your kinks and fantasies about society come true. Whatever you want could happen next time when they visit the next Planet-of-funny-hats, er, learn the next magic spell....

That's a powerful lure to losers who,in this reality, have nothing to look forward to except gout, hypertension and increasingly tight social spheres as everything in the world slowly gets put on a "do not interact with the problematics" list.

That's why they can't and won't let it go. What was cheap entertainment for those dull masses was, to them, a glimpse into the world they feel they are entitled to live in.

Everything is a slur if you're drunk enough, Karen.

Oh god, so it's not even a socialist pretending decrying hatespeech, but an activist on a topic that isn't even related to this "slur?"

Why are the sources of this faggotry always this hilarious.

They're basically just autistic children in adult bodies which are usually engorged with cellulite and redundant protoplasm. I've notice there's a good subsection of women like this who, woke or not, are absolutely obsessed with things made for children. Personally I think watching cartoons and reading teen/young adult novels is somewhat retarded, but people like what they like. When they won't shut the fuck up about it and constantly contrast real world events with these franchises, that's when it gets annoying as fuck. Men are no exception. Star Wars and Marvel capeshit are usually their fodder, then you have the weebs but they're a slightly different breed and usually they know other people don't give a flying fuck about their Japanese cartoons so they'll only discuss it with other likeminded people. Although that might be optimistic.

If you spend any time at all on Twitter or reddit you'd quickly see upper middle class white women are insanely jealous of nogs and troons and desperately want to be an oppressed clasd too.
