I don't think this is a good plan.

1. His fans were invested in the crusade, and the ones that are sticking around are still invested in thinking Billy is a bad guy. Appeasement never works and saying all this was for Karl's ego would drive away the rest.
2. People are mad about being lied to, offering refunds will not make them forgive the lying part. Besides my boy is leaking enough money as it is.

5. His most popular videos are about things outside of speedrunners, it is how he grew his audiace. His channel is dead in the water because this drama has made his name toxic outside of speedrunning.

If Karl really wants to save his career he needs to go for broke and double the fuck down. People will tune in for an absolute train wreck, not to watch some legally declared retard talk about speedrunning.

Of course he will lose half his audience.
Of course he will get mocked endlessly and lose his reputation as a "investigative journalist" or whatever.

But do most people really care about Speedrunning drama content whether a Karl Jobst or a Pimple McDoodle is reading off a AI generated script?

People want to watch a YouTube video while eating and they care about the content.
Not the person behind it.

Otherwise no person would want to watch an old movie with Harvey Weinstein anymore.

Hell, I would say most people watching him just get his videos recommended by the algorithm because his viewer retention is high and he has a high views to subscriber ratio.

And they never heard of him before.

Being humble and honest with yourself would make at least *some* people shrug it off and continue watching his videos because they couldn't give 2 shits about him as a person.

But doubling down will increase the number of people saying "Fuck that guy".

That is...legitimately disturbing. People like to talk about the extreme violence in games like say, Doom, but they usually do it in terms of how gory it is, or how cathartic it feels to rip the head off a boss demon you've been dueling with. "Funny" however is not really how its described, and certainly not in the context Karl was using it. The "Funny" moments in doom are when you are taken out of the slaughter and have to "interact" with normals. Like say the scientists operating the BFG. Doom Guy doesn't slaughter them. He just grabs a sniveling little nerd and swipes and the access card while its still attached to his neck. There is actually a good reason for this. Its to reground the player partially in reality without breaking immersion.

What's noteworthy as well is this is a review for Postal 2 (literally knew immediately off the description he gives) and you are in no way forced to or obligated to be this violent in game. That's the whole shtick. You can finish pretty much the entire game up to the dlc without harming a single character or animal while going about your missions. These are descriptions of how he played the game, not scripted in game events.

It's why Charlie and Muta are successful dispite having bland normie takes. If some drama happens that damages the viewer's perception of the host, then they will stop watching because that channel lost their main appeal.

If he continues like normal he will be fine I think.

How suicides work in online speed running community's is to have the community bully someone to death, then put their fresh corpse an a freeze vault for a few years.
Then their corpse is dug out to be used against someone else in their community or enemy of their community.

The Speed Running section should be expanded upon, as on page 4 of the thread, I literally prove through an archived tweet and the Discord logs that Karl was not only calling for people to mass-report Josh's video to potentially get the channel banned but also justifying it. He would later, in the screenshots, reference using KiwiFarms as a source, only to later cry about the site mocking his wife and supporting its ban.

I don't know if Karl has any other skills outside of speedrunning and content making. Like if he left youtube what the fuck would he even do? So even though the smart thing to do would be to shut the fuck up about the trial forever, he feels he has to defend himself further since he's probably worried about losing the best "job" he's ever had.
