That would validate him going downstairs to get the food that one time during feasting with the king and talking to her down there (even though he swore he was having a conversation with Jasper) versus previously when he spilled water on himself and stepped out of the office door to talk to her in the room next to his "office"

Interesting observation. What I don't get is what the motivation could possibly be for lying about how often Kat is home. Especially given the nonsense that is her having a job to begin with. Unless she works because it's for Phil, who wants to feel like he has a normal marriage. That would explain him lying about her not working, and even going so far as to deny physical evidence of her still living there by claiming that he was talking to his cat.
Though there is a rub, there, that being the fact that Linda was a stay-at-home mother, so where did he get the idea that the opposite was expected? I'm close in age to Phil, and let me tell you, the shows we grew up on weren't THAT thick with moms who held down a full-time job. In fact, "mom is going to work now" was often a plotline in a lot of sitcoms. It was treated as being at least slightly odd and disruptive.
I DO see why he wouldn't want to tip anyone off that Kat spends most of her time downstairs, though. It was ill-advised enough that he told everyone they sleep in separate bedrooms, and he may have realized that after reading this place. Though it's curious that he doesn't seem to have any better ideas about how to fake being closer to his wife, just stay quiet about anything further cementing how much they're not really married.

Its why he talks about her cooking as well. Unfortunately she actually is a retarded lay about so he can't think of anything else normal adults do to tell us about besides working and cooking.
Kat puts in as little effort as Phil does, so they're actually not a terrible match, but the woman's bought him a couple t-shirts since they got married?
They haven't even gone to the fucking zoo together or taken a weekend trip into Seattle like Leanna made Phil do. They don't even do things like go out for a nice meal together, unless it's fast food during the weekly trip to the grocery store before they Door Dash anyways.
It's important to remember that Phil has lived a Covid Lockdown tier experience for like 6 years now so he isn't good at making up stories.
I imagine Kat also tries to overstate how Real Adult Work being a part time shelf stocker is because it makes her feel normal and as a retard with an abusive mother any amount of work hours and the regularity of Phil's boring lifestyle is probably very comfortable.

Then he's not very good at it, because his stories about her cooking paint a very unflattering picture, as well as denote the possibility of him projecting his role onto her, given his selfish nature, fragile ego, and lack of accountability. Very odd for him to not recognize that while seeing the need to lie about her not working.
Unless, of course, his deception there is more about concealing the amount of time they COULD actually spend together.
Perhaps, though it begs the question of why she doesn't seem to feel any attachment to the person providing that comforting feeling. Say what you will about Leanna, she obviously liked Phil up until she didn't.

Idk, Kat has never been around to do more than fill in the blanks with speculation, but she'd have good reason to work.
Philburt's a couple bans away from having literally no income and, with his online history, no job prospects. Her having ongoing employment and some kind of an income stream, even if it isn't much, is a very smart idea, and being as she's been kicked around from place to place for most of her life I'm guessing she knows the basics of how to take care of herself.
As for why Kat doesn't care much about Phil, possibly because she has had a very tough life: phil's some clueless momma's boy who couldn't reason his way out of a wet paper bag, he's got noodly little arms and can't even deliver in bed, plus back when Kat and Phil first got involved (I'm sure Kat is at deathfat levels in the current day) she could've probably beat his ass. While he was crying about wolverine figures to his doting mother, Kat and her sisters were getting locked in the closet by a screeching physically abusive nutcase and confiscated by CPS.
Plus just in terms of personality Phil is very touchy about intimacy overall, so I doubt they ever have any kind of conversation that goes beyond mind numbing small talk, it's all just "Yes, hello fellow mature adult, let's talk about some of the things mature adults speak about with their mature adult spouses! Being mature adults sure is swell isn't it? Ha ha!".

The only reason why Leanna is gone is because Phil made her go work at the gap at the renton mall. Once she started working, she slowly woke up to the fact that Phil is a miserable, toxic person compared with her co-workers.
Phil panicked about his decling income and made Panda go to work. This was the decision that doomed his relationship with Leanna.
Had Leanna not left the snort fort for a job, she would still be there today.

The lore has become now that Leanna finally started meeting people and living real life, but I really doubt that's the case. Based mostly on her IG photos, which is just normie behavior making themselves look like successful, fun! having people on social media.
I'd bet it's because Phil's e-celebrity status was fading and she lost interest. Phil's status is clearly was drew her interest in her earlier vlogs, and what else is there that would draw her in.

I would think so, but if she's sharp enough to figure out that Phil is a ticking time bomb, that really begs the question of why she's not doing more. His lying about her work hours make it clear that she isn't ambitious enough for me to believe this angle. A Kat who knows what's coming, way better than her pigroach husband, would be behaving in a way that has him lying about when she's home in the opposite direction. Meaning, Phil tries to conceal the fact that she's at home less, instead of more.
Unless there's some horse version of OnlyFans I'm not aware of, and she's the biggest star on it, I don't see Kat in a position to well survive the imminent fall.
This just has me even more befuddled by his attitude towards Kat working. You would expect him to be sent into Vietnam flashbacks. Not to mention he goes out of his way to make it clear that their financial situations are separated. Why go from thinking a second income would be vital, to being practically angry at the suggestion, when according to reality AND his own narrative, things have taken even more of a down-turn?

I think that her getting a job was a big part of her leaving, just not for reasons that are usually stated. I'd argue that it gave her the one thing that Phil had taken away when they moved together: financial independence from him. Before all she had was effectively pocket money from her etsy, which was primarily funded by Phil since he could afford to buy her the stuff for it. It's telling that after she left Phil she got rid of the esty shop and instead went through education again, almost like he had been intentionally preventing her from having the option to go elsewhere to ensure he'd always had his maid. Also having a job meant that she was making friends away from Phil, meaning that she had people she could lean on in the eventuality that she'd leave the goutress. If she never had gotten a job, I'd bet she'd still be there.

After reading through Leanna's soap forum posts, I'm starting to think the negative attention Phil got online actually played a huge role in her leaving. She said she was regularly being called a gold-digging whore, a racist, and even got death threats (her claim) and all this for a fat hairy snorting man who refused to marry her?
Sounds like a silver bullet for a relationship to me. I think most young women would dip. Even if she's overexaggerating the hate she got online, even the self-perception would be enough.
