I do want to point out that the Bronsgeests were inventing new characters though, rather than impersonating a real person whose existence can be independently verified. "Kimberlie" could have been anyone, but to fake Demon Sister you would need someone who looks like her and controls her known social media accounts.

Well, the first "evidence" of it being Phil was "Nobody could possibly be autistic enough to fake this." And it is a helpful corrective to remember that yes, yes they could, and dig deeper.

1) This does match with the "father committed suicide" line from Twitter, which I believe wasn't common knowledge. So I'm counting that as a point toward "legit".
