As others have said, I think the big thing to look for with Khet being around is whether or not Jasper is still there. If she leaves, she either takes Jasper, or Phil unloads him on a shelter.
I would posit that even the pigroach recognizes how suspicious that would be. But in light of what you remind me here...
While he's doing AC stuff, that's a good indicator too, since there's no way Phil would put in overtime to do off stream stuff. His other "chill" streams are perfect examples of that. Based on what we've seen with Phil's bankruptcy/trying to cover up his mobile gaming addiction, I don't think he's smart enough/has anything resembling foresight to try and build a buffer of Khet pictures to slowly unroll as evidence she's still around. I also think he's too delusional to even worry about her leaving to think about taking those kinda precautions in the first place.
...it's rather moot, since this is indeed a pretty good indicator that Khet is still around. I hadn't thought of it, on account of I don't watch his streams and no one bothers with TIHYDPs for that game. Anyway, yes, I agree that it would be pretty shocking for Phil to think that far ahead, especially with all the ways he unintentionally makes himself look very alone.
It's funny, though, because Khet leaving him and him lying about it actually would be
less pathetic than the situation he's in now. I mean, if we can take him at his word on everything (we shouldn't, but for laughs, let's do so here), not only is his marriage a sham, but it's a sham he's unaware of. Or in complete denial over. Either way, better for him to be single, even if he lies about it, like he did for awhile with Leanna.
Lol at the idea of Philip learning anything. I think you’re putting the cart before the horse here. More likely only someone with Kat’s personality type would likely hook up with Philip. I think Philip was just looking for the first person to be his new substitute mother.
The pigroach does learn, it's just never what he
should learn, or learn from, and he always fucks it up even when he does (sort of) learn. Though bear in mind that I think that in this case largely because of the considerable difference in personalities between Leanna and Khet. Is it possible that Phil just got (sort of) lucky? He's the pigroach, of course it is. But regardless of the reason, the difference is notable, and I'm not about to dismiss the possibility that it's deliberate. Phil does plenty of other deliberate things that help make him what he is, after all, and some of it has been based on feedback (entirely the negative kind, which is a huge part of the pigroach's problem). Just look at what he does to try to choke off the supply of entertaining TIHYDPs. Fucks it up still, yes, but is he not more boring these days? I think he is.
If anything DSP is the malleable one. He's shoveling down Taco Bell, mashed potato, listening to "world music" and watching Let's Plays on Youtube. Besides greed, he's a void waiting to be filled by whoever he hires to maintain the rest of his house for him at any given time.
I assumed he was full of shit about all that, but if he isn't, then you have a point.
