Artcow Ken Penders - Former Archie Sonic Comic Writer/Artist

So this isn't actually a new post by him, but it IS something that seems to have escaped our notice in his quest to bullshit his way through life.

You know, just because they're animals, it doesn't mean they have to ACT like animals, Penders.

Of course Penders would highlight the most edgelord-y things above all else.

Still pisses me off Ian can't actually use more of Ken's characters (or even the ones from other media) anymore. Would have been kind of neat to see how he'd try to rework them into this new continuity.

Eh, honestly? Fuck that. I'm glad Ian's got a clean slate to work with. The Archie comics were too covered in noodly strings of Ken Penders Sperghetti.

I know how much you guys love Ken's writing, so here's another sneak peak

Found this little gem going through his timeline. Weird flex Ken, but ok

Everyone who has read this tweet decided it was better to risk going outside and getting infected than sheltering in place.

Let’s not forget that Penders thought it was important that people know that Princess Sally didn’t lose her virginity to Sonic. Anyone who asks about the reproductive process of an anthropomorphic animal in children’s media is a deviant and anyone who answers it in greater detail than “who cares?” is a bigger deviant.

I really hope he is being an an ironic edgy-boy with that reply. Then again his run of stories written for Archie were unironic edgy-boy.

Do I even dare ask why he thought this was a relevant topic for him to approach in what was essentially a comic for children and pre-teens?

Let me guess, it was to one of Ken's crappy OCs everyone hated.

I honestly forget the context. I believe he was complaining that Archie would not allow him to reference it in a story. It was the skunk character. Paraphrasing here, but Penders said something along the lines of “Sonic is fast, but someone else beat him there.”

Good guess, Geoffrey St. John the skunk boy tapped that. I remember that day, people were discussing Sonic's various relations in the comic when Ken dropped that bomb. His name actually trended on twitter after that reveal

I really don't understand why he would be so opposed to just drawing a random black guy. It shouldn't have been an issue. Do his generic black guys look like shit or does he just have a boner for Anthony?
He must have been feeling lazy, since humans tend to be the one thing he can draw well.

Number one rule for artist: Don't trace, ever! Sooner or later someone will always find out, and in the era of the internet it is inevitable.

If his excuse is that he didn't want to draw a "random black guy" he could have referenced images of Anthony Mackie to create an original portrait, not just outright trace it like a two-bit hack.

One thing I've always been suspicious of are his Star Trek: TNG comics. He managed to really capture the likenesses of the cast quite well so I wonder if he was tracing image stills from the show even back then.
