He thinks he's above drawing the cartoonishy (no pun intended) simple Sonic characters. He shoves in as many perspective and anatomically (in) correct body parts to make his work look "mature" and "complex"

I have no idea what the repercussions would be if my theory was true. I can see a LOT of western sonic fans feeling burned badly. SoJ would have purposely and consciously set up the failure and essential banning of the characters and stories they grew up with; just out of some weird Japanese spite.
I know that would not kill the franchise, but it would damage it for a lot of years.

Something I've noticed about his depiction of Sonic is his eyes always have this wide angle V shape to them. Every facial feature of his face looks crowded together & unnatural, like it was pasted together with bits and pieces from a hobby store & Elmer glue. He has no skull to speak of, his ears are just behind his eye brow & right behind that is where his hair begins. His face is a flat cardboard box where the face is apparently drafted at a downward angle but the facial features are angled forward at the viewer, you can tell the majority of his face from the eyes down are aimed at the floor but they have to be facing the viewer as well. I don't think I've ever seen such a bizarrely terrible depiction of a character as simple as Sonic before, at least when Chris-chan draws a character it's at a single, flat perspective. I fully believe SoJ let Pre-archie die. Preboot characters like the Freedom Fighters weren't even supposed to be in the postboot, but Ian Flynn fought tooth and nail to keep them in because of fan support.

Here's my theory; for a while after Penders was booted off the comic around 151-159, everything was going fairly swimmingly for a while, then the court cases happened, and SoJ, wishing for the comics to promote the games and not the other way around, saw an opportunity to not get invested because of Penders litigious ass. I feel like they were tired of the dramatic baggage the FF brought because of this and saw an easy out to let this retard win.

Because if anyone remembers, Sega actually fought to keep Sally alive and well in the comics after Penders tried really hard to kill her off. They cared about the direction of the comic for a good, long while, even selling merch of them. It was only after Penders started shitting everything up did they decide to wash their hands of it.
 
You can tell a lot about a Sonic fan feels about the franchise by how they draw the blue blur himself. Chris has a flat,one dimensional but recognizable Sonic in a charming way. Ken however takes his art work too serious,focusing more on shading and anatomy that were never there before than on the actual face and shapes. Leading to an uncanny mess. This can be seen projected as he rather write pages and pages on his OCs than about fun adventures of the funny blue rodent and friends.

You know I just kinda hope this backfires as autists someday infiltrate SoJ from the inside and spite Penders by adding all their favorite character and sometimes changing the name to be legally distinct.
