I'm honestly curious how much Pender's thinks he'll get from this. Like, how much does he expect to make from someone using his sonic fan character that he technically can't use anyway because of the characters ties to Knuckles.
Or how much he hopes to win if he takes it to court. This is going to be interesting

We'll have to wait and see if Sega is going to be a fickle mistress regarding this fan project and pretend it doesn't exists or issues a "Cease and Desist" to the creators. At the very least Sega isn't as hostile as Nintendo when it comes to this type of fan creations. While seeing this released on Youtube would be nice, people should be willing to look for it on the high seas just in case.

Sega is going to milk the Sonic franchise for all is worth now that it is enjoying a unprecedented level of popularity thanks to the movies but if I being honest I rather they just stick to licensing the IP for movies and animated series and forget about developing any new games. There is plenty of a backlog catalog of Sonic games already available for new fans of the franchise from which to choose.

Sega looks the other way as long as they don't sell it, and the guys behind the fan SatAM are asking for patreon donations so...

If they don't want to go down they'd be dumb as shit to release it anywhere that isn't free

It's on indefinite hiatus so that he can focus all his energies on his big lawsuit against Paramount and Sega Sammy for plagiarizing his TRUE and HONEST ORIGINAL ideas of giving Knuckles a father, giving Knuckles a tribe, having Knuckles guard a giant green emerald, and Knuckles himself.
