Flynn managed to turn into into an actually decent book after a few years of world building house cleaning. But here comes Ken with his lawsuit and the comic just unceremoniously ends in the middle of the most ambitious storyline the book has ever had. Plot threads unresolved, well loved characters lost forever, and decades of world building gone. For better or worse. Personally I think the IDW comic is a massive improvement in most ways, but still. What could have been.

I dont know about that one chief, Ian flynn only got worse at the end of pre reboot and start of reboot. He was never really good at making his on storylines as we see that happening real time with idw. Fucking up characterizations like shadow, sonic , amy because so called mandates (to be confirmed false) lol

karl bollers (a season comic writer before archie) really did justice to the series which i never see people Congratulating him on what he did during most of the run before issue 160

I have copies of the books in all their forms, He's even done audiobook versions of them in recent years. the second book Miracle Monday ends with a fictional holiday of the same name that's in the CW show that's coming out now. he's been I think retried for years but they still put his shit out there too. the newest version I have of the first one (I'm looking at the inside right now) was published in 2018 and says in continuous print from that date. it has the original copyright from Warner Books and National Periodicals (DC's old name) inside too from 1978. it was essentially a deal where if they didn't reprint it for 40 years it was just his after that. that's why it didn't get reprinted in the late 90s when he wrote the novel version of Kingdom Come for them. I know for a fact I have heard him speak about this before but can't remember where or find it. I can even email the guy and ask him if he still checks his old links. who knows if he will respond but I do remember someone somewhere asked him years ago probably in the early 2010s or late 2000s about it and he said he had to wait until the 40 years were up and it became his.

this is also why Alan Moore hates DC so much. and why watchmen is the best selling graphic novel of all time. the copyright was supposed to revert to him and Dave Gibbons as soon as it went out of print. it has never went out of print. on purpose, even when it's had dips in sales they keep reprinting it and astroturfing it so it never goes to him, he's been bitching about this forever. if it had when he expected it to, within 10 years there would be a whole watchmen universe of self published shit by him even though it's just renamed dc characters from charlton.

People really underestimate, Ken. Was a well known figure in this sphere back in the day (check Sonic Stadium forum search, fags couldn't stop bitching about me) and people were always shocked the dude kept on winning/ had fans. The real anti hero of the Sonic Comics.

I think he's an unintentionally hilarious idiot but I don't know why people insist he can't do any of this shit when there is assorted legal precedent for this type of thing. I don't get what is so hard to understand about he has to make it legally distinct in some way but he literally owns it. archie fucking sued him he didn't even sue them. (he did try to sue bioware or sega or whatever and they threw it out). none of this is that hard to grasp. it's certainly weird, and out of the ordinary for work on a licensed character, but archie's total incompetence caused all of this. ken thinks he's fucking jack kirby or shuster and siegel or something, and he's not. he's a fat retard but he knew they didn't have the contracts (or he stole them or whatever who knows) and started copyrighting all of this stuff under their noses, under the guise of creator's rights and following in the steps of guys who actually did do anything important like the aforementioned. they found out, and went what the fuck? you can't do that. and they couldn't prove he couldn't and got btfo. shit's his man. as stupid and ridiculous as it all is, it's just the facts.

I love the Penders drama. it's a gift that hasn't stopped giving since I became aware of the situation a decade ago. he's proved himself time and time again to be a cow and so have the people who insist on armchair legal excuses that are just flat out not how any of that works who refuse to believe he can do anything.

this is from the second one but it shows right there the characters don't belong to him but the book and the text do he can do whatever he wants with it. ken is in a similar boat though from his legal win not from an agreement/contract like maggin but it is the same thing
