Kerbal Space Program 2: Check your Stagin' Boogaloo - Looks like they plan to implement Nuclear Pulse Propulsion...

I'd really like it if Kerbal had actual terrain on Earth, since a million hours of early game are going to be spent looking at it as you blow up repeatedly, but I can see why it wouldn't, because even at a reduced scale Kerbin is too large, probably, to have anything like that at all. But I've still thought, maybe it could have a few things (in RSS mod) like some shitty 3D polygon that's meant to outline a city, some wonders, and copy-paste endless forest, tiny bit of topology.

Basically I want to ooh and ah at things like the Sahara, Himalayas, big ass hurricane clouds, and the night lights of the world as I soar over them.
my dude are you playing ksp1 without mods?

get Parallax, EVE Redux, Planetshine, Waterfall, Distant Object Enhancement, maybe Restock and Astronomer's pack at least. And a skybox of your choice

edit: oh wait I misread kerbal as kerbin. if you're just talking about RSS, yeah you're probably not getting flight sim earth

I played a tiny bit of it, then installed the whole RSS suite, got overwhelmed, then just gave up and started reading rocket science. (But the book I got isn't really helpful except that it explained how orbits and transfers work, I would have had no clue how to do something like raise my altitude with two burns or perform a Hohmann transfer otherwise, everything in space is scary and confusing and behaves the opposite of how I'd expect but seems obvious afterwards.)

Edit: Oh, I mean, I have RSS, but the Earth is still just a flat ball of green, I can be like "yep that's the Carolina coast" as I fly north of Kennedy Space Center (probably in the wrong direction, it just occured to me I should probably be launching horizontally following the Earth's rotation, I'm a fucking idiot) but it doesn't look like anything but empty green fields.

Watching some of the dev diaries and interviews and some of the stuff they said from a few years ago is hilarious now.
"It's 2021 and we're almost done with the game! We're playing it all the time and having lots of fun with it! Multiplayer makes us laugh so hard! We're at the very end of polishing it up so that it runs smoothy! We're making sure every last bug is squashed! trust us, bro!" LMAO! Then they release a barely playable tech demo in 2023 with worse performance and fewer features than KSP1...and for twice the price! Now here we are three months after release and there have been all of two bug fix patches and no new content, and every communication from the devs so far has boiled down to

LOL, ROFL, LMAO, and :story:, Even.

So is it good yet? KSP2 was one of the few single player games I didn't pirate, and the first I ever got refunded

I haven't seen anyone talk about it after the science update so I imagine not, it probably performs better than it did but that's all. I plan on giving it a shot after the resource update but that is still a ways off with how long the science one took.

People will talk about a game either because it's an amazing game that you want to talk about and recommend to your friends and join in communities and stuff, OR because it's an absolute trash fire that is fun to point and laugh at how much of a train wreck it is. (A lolcow game, if you will.) KSP2 was the latter before, which is why people were talking about it, but it's gotten steadily patched and content added, so it's no longer the latter, but not yet the former, so it's in this dull area where it's not fun enough to actually play a lot of, but not comically bad either. Hence, nobody has any reason to talk about it right now.

It looks like the game may be kill. I would not be surprised at this point. The development team has acted suspiciously the entire time. Quite a few people have accused the entire thing of being a scam and the devs of being con artists. If they aren't then they are at the very least incompetent. This video sums things up better than I could.

If it's really dead then I'm hoping another studio can make a spiritual successor that lives up to what we were originally promised.

Man. I got this on a sale, so I'm not hugely out, but it's still disappointing. It was just starting to get into decent shape, too. Guess it's back to KSP 1 and ONI for my skinnerbox needs...

Oh man who did not see this coming?
I have zero faith theyll get it to even half of what they promised. Some bug fixes and an update or two and that will be it, nothing past 2023. For example, theyre already deleting past PR;

On the plus side, firing fucking everybody involved seems like the best possible idea at this point. Hey, maybe they aren't even lying about 'supporting' the game.

If I was in charge of 70 asset-flipping retards in Seattle who couldn't do what one autistic Castizo dude did in his basement, I'd fire them too.

Interview with Felipe Falanghe aka HarvesteR (the creator of KSP) over the clusterfuck

TLDW he was shut out of the entire development process (in any capacity) of KSP2 by Take-Two Interactive.
