Tbh getting any offer at all that wasn't "fuck off" kind of surprised me. The case wasn't terribly strong and would probably have been dismissed on grounds of qualified immunity. I have no idea why they even offered him nuisance value. Maybe politics, maybe they just had some kind of order to get as many cases out of the queue as possible. I honestly don't think it would have even cost as much in legal fees (from lawyers on staff) to get this thrown out as they paid him off.

I might be discounting the value of the case because I tend to disregard anything Kevvy himself says, so maybe it was actually a slightly better case than I thought.
