This is one of the most annoying aspects of Kevin/the tranchers/trannies in general. There's no way they are actually afraid for their lives at people saying mean things about them. But they want everyone else to believe that they could be. They either want everyone to be fooled into the narrative that this kind of language will lead to violence against them, or they want the people who aren't fooled to just shut up and go along with it, under the threat of being labeled a bigot/TERF/whatever. Everyone needs to be operating on this base level of make-believe bullshit, totally divorced from reality.

It's vital to the tranch's whole existence for them to be under constant threat, it's how they make their living. If people are allowed to question anything about this, the whole story falls apart. The tranch is a metaphor for the trans community as a whole...they need people to either go along with whatever they say is true or be quiet because once it becomes tolerable for outsiders to criticize or question their claims, to say that they are anything but totally vulnerable and defenseless at all times, the jig could be up and they are brought back down to the same level as everybody else.
