I'm not into Doctor Who, so someone who is should correct me if I got it wrong.
The impression I got was that the sex and gender of the Doctor was possibly the least important aspect to their existence, and only appeared as either a man or a woman because taking a human form had this constraint.

Troons and their love for Steven Universe always annoy me. Gushing over how "gay" it is and how progressive it is because it has non-binary characters. Those characters can choose their gender identity, but they're also not human, so yes... they can be non-binary or choose whatever gender they prefer since they are literally sexless aliens. Why do they always leave that part out or act like it isn't significant? Stevonie using "they" pronouns, I find it cringe to be quite honest, but even then it makes sense because we're talking about a FICTIONAL show where some half alien human boy and a girl can fuse together and become neither girl nor boy. To act like this same logic applies to real, actual humans is just batshit. I feel bad for children who watch this crap, thinking it's just a fun show, only to go online and see the entire fandom sperg about how it validates their gender.

Also, when did Sadie and Lars find Stevonie hot? I only watched this show when babysitting or extreme boredom set in, so I don't remember this. But that would be creepy if true. Sadie and Lars are adults, so making them find Stevonie hot would be gross since Steven and Connie are like 12-13 years old. Not surprising that Kevie would "love" such a scene though.

Like, I wouldn't blame Lars or Sadie for finding her attractive, since Stevonnie looks like an adult and they don't know it's Steven and Connie fused together, but I question why on earth this scene was created in the first place? It's obviously a scene that is made to show that the character is good looking and these two adults find her attractive. It would have been funny if Stevonnie had de-fused and then Lars and Sadie freak out and feel gross about it, but that didn't happen. So again, why this scene even made? Call me an old fuck but you'd think a show aimed at little kids wouldn't try to make child characters sexy. Yes, I know that Stevvonie looks like an adult, but the show always made it clear she still has the brain of a child. Does this ever get addressed in the show?

Back on topic, I still find it gross (yet unsurprising) that Kevin would love this scene and see it as "progressive". What I find funny is that even in a fictional cartoon universe, Stevonnie doesn't look non-binary. She still looks and sounds female, just like how all non-binary snowflakes in real life look :lol:

Yeah a lot of the shit involving Steven fusing with other people got kinda weird and pedo-y. Literally the showrunners attempted to justify the sexualisation by saying that when Steven and Connie fuse, Stevonnie is as old as both their ages added together so it's fine. As mentioned there was a scene where Lars and Sadie were both flustered by them, but that wasn't even the worst of it. In their intro episode there was also a douchebag creep called Kevin (oh the fucking irony :lit:) flirting with them, and a joke where he says "ew, that's 2 kids!" and runs off when they unfuse... but then he comes back in a later episode and keeps hitting on them even though he now knows it's two kids in disguise. And then in the movie Steven fuses with his dad into this JoJo-posing musclebear who flirts with the other Crystal Gems. Sperg rant over, tl;dr yes shit with Stevonnie got weird

Which is funny, because the same people who gush over this are the ones who harped on and on about the "9000 y/o vampire in a 9 y/o body" being abhorrent.

[Tbh I sorta thought the stevonnie stuff was sort of an nod to going through puberty. Suddenly you are growing places and people take notice. Might be nice at first (flattered when Lars and sadie notice, people Steven and Connie were comfortable with) but then creeps like Kevin (both the one in the show and this thread) start to make you feel uncomfortable and you have a breakdown. Since they are very clearly not drawn like a child. Iirc there is also an episode where they learn to drive.

Also I like how the writers trashed everything Sadie and larse had going on just to shoehorn in some basic bitch non binary character, complete with dumb instrument and they/them pronouns, and I've BARELY heard a thing about it from the usual audiences. It's like they don't really care 🤔🤔🤔

the show was decent in the beginning and I genuinely enjoyed it. But it all went to shit with peridot/lapis and the fucking meme barn. They did my girl Jasper fuckin dirty and basically memoryholed the malachite stuff, which could have developed into a really interesting story arc with some harsh lessons. The diamonds were badass and my last reason to keep watching, and got completely neutered in su future. Like I get it their good now but fuck. Ok sorry sperg over
