From what I've heard one of the rules of being homeless is not to take food from strangers on the off chance that it's been tampered with. I'm not sure if that's true though.

Kevin of course would most likely turn down any direct payment of bills because the bill is most likely already paid and we can't have any one noticing that. I think if you offered direct payment he would most likely refuse to give any information about the bills using the scary fascist people hiding in his bushes as an excuse

Is it weird that I think street people are somehow more fundamentally honest and dignified than Kevin is in that regard?

One time, a man asked me for "change for the bus," so, I gave him a bus ticket. He looked none too pleased and stared at me for a good while before silently walking off. I imagine Kev would act similarly if someone gave him direct goods or services rather than money - not outright confrontation but no word of thanks either.

also his reasoning is weird. He wants to pay the doc upfront because he thinks they give him the side eye if he asks for it on his bill? Maybe the small $20 amount is actually part of the grift? If he asks for a small amount, maybe a lot of people are willing give the full asked amount since “it’s only $20 Trump bux”.

People with autism, people with hiv, people with a hernia, people with a cervix. Some languages don't even have a word for the cervix, e.g. it's called "the neck of the womb" in Russian.

I also love "people of color" because it's literally just "colored people" which has been considered racist for decades

In German those words (womb/cervix) also all include the word for "mother", not sure whether they tried to rename them to something more gender neutral yet.
