Most collectors will keep the in box/package figures on shelves, loose figures in cases particularly if they're old/delicate and can't be handled too much. With maybe a single table or similar set up for display in like a diorama. (think models of trains, ships, planes or battlefields) With them in poses or on stands often to recreate scenes from movies if they're based on franchises like most figures these days are.
