I don't want to PL too much but I know exactly where they're talking about, I was internet aquaintences with the tranny who started it back in the day, it was in Shelton, WA. It wasn't actually a farm, although it was a farm style house and he had a handful of chickens and a sheep. The only other person who lived there was his super psycho tranny gf who 41%ed like 9 years ago. The doc who did the operations didn't live there but would come up when a surgery was scheduled (he was also another tranny)

The OR and electrology station was in a shed they built specifically for that purpose.

Steampunk Phil actually reminds me a lot of the tranny who started that clinic, although I think the bootleg clinic tranny was a little too misanthropic to ever want to start a commune. His name is Beth Flannagan, also known as "Beth X"

I have an idea for a new poll. How about 'When will Kevin's rot pocket finish healing? Then options like,
'By Christmas 2020 (ONE WHOLE YEAR TO HEAL!)';
'Spring 2021 (16 MONTHS TO HEAL)';
'Sometime in 2021';
or, the requisite 'Never, he's ruined his life/he'll need revision surgery.'

Maybe some comparable healing times, like how long it takes to recover from some typical major surgery vs. Kevin's healing time.

You know what, I disagree with Kev, but I'll play along. Sure, let's put a "spell" (still can't give up Harry Potter, I see) on trans "women" and make it illegal/impossible to transition. He says there would still be cis men pretending to be women to creep on real women. He's right. But the dipshit forgets that if we weren't forced to allow men dressed as women in bathrooms, locker rooms, sports teams, etc. -- these evil cis bastards would have fewer opportunities to get women into vulnerable positions in the first place. And likely they wouldn't bother dressing as women to harass us since that would only work if they put a ton of work into it and could pass well enough that they wouldn't get the cops called on them for being in a women's only space. The only benefit to pretending to be a troon is that it keeps them from being arrested for being in the women's room. Take that away and why would they bother unless they are degenerates like Kev?

So, yeah, it won't magically keep women from being abused by men -- but it will give us a few spaces that are safer. No one ever claimed it would reduce the risk 100%. But Mr. Loony Troon's feelings are so much more important than the physical safety or feelings of actual, real, biological women. Fuck off Kev.

Do you know if it was just one doc or someone else/full staff with techs/nurses? Because if they DIY-ed anesthesia and the surgeon did it, or some random amateur, that's even more fucking crazy and dangerous than it seems. I also wonder if they had all the equipment (again, anesthesia stuff) to resuscitate someone if shit went down.

It was only the one doc. I am pretty sure they only used local anesthesia which is not unheard of for orchiectomies. AFAIK nothing ever went south, but I remember at the time thinking "goddamn this seems dicey as fuck".

As far as you know... this just makes me think they could have done a really good job at covering up any mishaps by convincing their botched victims that "hearing about this will encourage people to be transphobes". Seriously though, my brain is so full of what the everloving fuck. Why did they shut down?

The doctor decided he wanted to focus on abortion access in states where there were not a lot of doctors providing them. I think he ended up going to Montana. Shortly after Beth left to I think Portland and got into programming.

As sketchy as that clinic was they did have a license to operate and had inspections and stuff and atleast had an actual doctor which atleast put them ahead of Craigslist surgeons who were just like "gimme $50 and I'll cut your balls off in a pay by the hour motel"

Orchiectomies are treated kind of casually by a lot of trans people. Look at the casual way Kevvie talks about his vaginoplasty which is a way more involved and serious operation, like "nbd, just got a new vag, got some irksome ring in there, ah well, probs just my kegels!" with orchies people get even more casual and some people see it like getting a piercing at the mall. A decent amount of people attempt it at home with rubber bands or farm equipment, so an actual doctor doing it in a shed in the woods may sound crazy to normies, but to the people getting them there it was like "sure beats getting it done by a hobo with a broken beer bottle in an alley"

It's pretty crazy, this was early 2000's and it was the wild west out there if you didn't feel like jumping through the hoops that were required to get approved for hormones or surgery. Nowadays someone like Kevin can get approved for surgery in the blink of an eye and "informed consent" clinics are everywhere.
