His studio portraits are mediocre, and his street photos are bland snapshits overproduced to hell and back in Lightroom/Photoshop. If you look at the utility poles in the bizarrely tilted train photo, you can even see where his automatically-applied filter didn't quite reach the poles themselves. Plus, it looks like there are two separate suns rising in frame. Come on dude, this is amateur-hour stuff.

This is the closest frame I could find. Just a skull with a hat. Not even a similar hat or skull shape that would have been "traced".


Perhaps I find it more unsettling knowing it was drawn by a paranoid schizophrenic who seems to be on the verge of violence.

If he's ever been involuntarily committed he probably can't purchase a gun. Which he says he has no interest in but his photography suggests otherwise.

About his art: I actually like his style, specifically. He uses filters and digital manipulation but in a much more sane way than you'll see in so many professional photos nowadays. I fucking hate how professionals are trigger happy to abuse HDR, for example - he doesn't do that, his enhanced photos are obviously enhanced but in a very tasteful manner compared to what you see elsewhere and frequently online.

I also like the trippy elements he adds. Again, it just hits home for me - it's over-the-top but again, tasteful.

Now why do I say I like his style? Because I like what he's trying to do but on the other hand I hate his work if that makes any sense. OP did a great job of selecting the very best from him but there's so much shit too:

I can't say anything about his actual photography technique but I'll take @MrLobe's word that it's amateur level. I think I get the vision he has for his art and when he pulls it off it's pretty good, no joke but most of the time it seems that he's just a lolcow with a camera as you'd expect.

For some reason, I was thinking the GD movie involved a jailbreak with a gun and not the Statue Of Liberty. My memories from that era of my life are a bit scrambled and faded though.

I have an cousin who is like this guy. It really sucks that you can't do much to help them. My cousin is fine when medicated, but he frequently goes off the meds and gets irrational. There's nothing you can really do but stay away.

There's a few "schizo simulation" videos on YouTube as well. Some are actually pretty good. They look like your average Internet meme video but are actually put out by NGOs and hospitals to raise awareness and are pretty realistic, if anyone cares to search for it.

Fortunately, a common practice for people who do this kind of modeling is that they bring their boyfriend or a group of other tough, trusted individuals to watch their back during the entire shoot to act as amateur bodyguards.

Legit photographers always welcome this. You can spot a creepy photographer if they have objections to a model bringing a friend and you should avoid business with those guys at all costs.

The Harvey Glatman case was the ultimate example of what can happen if a model doesn't bring an escort to a shoot.
