Despite never owning an Xbox One (or any console for that matter), I've fell in love with the new(ish) Killer Instict game almost instantaneously thanks to its striking character designs, beautiful music and deep game mechanics that put a lot of emphasis mind games and profiting from high risk\high rewards scenarios. The most I've played with it was like an hour on the Xbox of one of my friend's room mate, but apart from that Killer Instinct was something I'd admire from afar.

That is, till I've heard this news:

If things go well the PC version will arrive sometime in 2016,I'll do my best to get a computer strong enough to run it perfectly. Apparently Iron Galaxy, the team behind the game's second season, will also be responsible for the PC port, which makes me hopefull that the online part will be as good as that of the console version.

Any fighting game enthusiast over here that are as hyped for this as I am?

Not really, but it'd be nice if this extends the game's competitive lifespan as a consequence. It has some stern competition in the form of SFV and MKX to contend with, but I would really like to see the franchise continue. The work of Double Helix/Iron Galaxy has been very impressive to date. The only thing left that they could do to blow my mind on genuinely helpful competitive features is make a Trial Mode that updates based on the most popular/most damaging/most useful combos used for each character.

I'd be surprised if they didn't make a third season to go with introducing KI to the PC. While I'm not sure how many new characters they'll be able to create, there's plenty of stuff to be added even if we only look at what could be reintroduced to the franchise (Tusk, Kim Wu and maybe even Gargos or Eyedol as playable characters, more stage ultras, no mercies, humiliations, etc). Even if KI doesn't have the same commercial presence between casual gamers as MKX, its game mechanics and net code are in a league of their own. I at least would be shocked it the it wouldn't remain relevant to the FGC for at least a few more years.
