Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, 29, is charged in a sealed federal indictment out of Tennessee with conspiracy to unlawfully transport illegal aliens for financial gain and unlawful transportation of illegal aliens.

Abrego Garcia allegedly moved illegal immigrants from Texas to interior states, in what courts say was an organized operation stretching back years.

Children were among those allegedly trafficked. The indictment, filed under seal last month, includes two felony counts.

Fox News Digital obtained Tennessee Highway Patrol bodycam footage from a 2022 traffic stop where troopers pulled over Garcia for speeding. Inside his vehicle were eight other men, raising immediate suspicions. "He’s hauling these people for money," one trooper said.

I think this is a way to neuter Judge Boasberg without have to risk a SCOTUS hearing.

Ok Kilmar's back in the US just like Boasberg ordered so the contempt charges are now defunct and Boasberg has not one single lever to keep his ass in the case. This is now a criminal case in a whole other district (Texas) so Boasberg losses all jurisdiction no matter what kind of orders he starts throwing and he can no longer try to push contempt on Trump and force a SCOTUS showdown...sadly. Roberts really should have done something but now he's off the hook having to either rule the judiciary is sumpreme over the POTUS or the POTUS is supreme over the SCOTUS. Roberts was fucked either way but now he's wriggled free of have to actually do something.

And Trump still gets his win for the public. Kilmar goes to prison for 10 years and then get thumped out.

Would I have preferred a showdown?

I'm not sure, I have big doubts that the SCOTUS would rule in Trump's favor. Asking judges to limit their own reach and power is a big ask even with HNIC Thomas on the court and if they did rule against Trump then the US goes into a real Constitutional Crisis as now we'd have to figured out what to do when a President does ignore the courts and who knows how that would end up.

For now that's all been put on hold.
